Tom gets engaged to Zendaya after promising to marry y/n when they were kids.
y/n's pov
"Okay so, you guys keep asking why we've gathered everyone here today. Well, Z and I have an announcement." Tom beamed, wrapping his arm around zendayas waist. "A couple days ago, i proposed and my beautiful fiancé said yes." He chuckled, and Z gave him a huge kiss on the cheek.
The smile on my face, from joking around with Harrison prior, fell.
"We wanted you guys to know first as you're the people closest to us." Z grinned, both arms now draped around Toms neck as she leant in for a passionate kiss.
I averted my gaze, unable to handle this news as well as the sight of them making out.
The claps, cheers and gasps of surprise were simply echos, muffled noises that clouded my brain.
I've tried so hard to deal with it. Tom and Z. I've accepted that they're perfect for each other and there's no way that Tom will ever look at me the way he looks at her. But fuck. That was supposed to be me. He said so himself.

"I'm gonna marry you someday." Tom laughed as we looked up at the clouds.
"Don't be silly Tommy! We're too young." I smiled, hitting him softly on the arm.
"Not now stupid. But someday." He turned to meet my eyes, a warm feeling pumping through my heart.
"I'd like that."
"I love you." He chuckled before turning back to look at the sky.
"I love you more." I reached over to put my hand on his. He slid his fingers though mine.
"I love you for infinity." He raised his eyebrows, as if challenging me.
"Okay okay, you win." I laughed.
———
"I love you Z." Tom gazed lovingly into her eyes.
"I love you more Tom." She rested her forehead on his.
"Not possible. I love you for infinity."
Practically chocking on my own tears, I ran from the room in the most discrete way I could.
I sat myself down on a garden chair and looked up into the starry night sky, wishing they would take me up there as one of there own. Right now, I'd rather be anywhere but here.
Blinking back tears, I tried to forget what he just said. Those were our words. Ours.
They weren't for her.
Im so sick and tired of trying to push these emotions away but this was my wake up call. It's never going to happen. Im just going to have to get used to the excruciating sting in my lungs I get everytime I see them.
"Hey, thought you'd be here." I soft voice spoke from behind me. It was Harrison.
"Hey. Before you say anything, I'm fine." I weakly chuckled.
"Yeah right, c'mere." He squeezed himself down next to me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I let all the emotions out, muffling my cries with Harrisons shirt. I was thankful he was here.

"Just gonna go look for y/n and haz, I'll be back soon." I pecked z on the cheek before pushing through my crowd of friends.
Where did they go?
My ears picked up a noise; a quiet cry. Following the noise, it lead me to the garden where I saw both Harrison and Y/n cuddled up together. I was about to go out there when y/n spoke.
"I cant do it Haz. I've tried so hard but hearing him- hearing him-" her words stumbled as sobs escaped her lips.
"Hearing him what darling?" Haz questioned softly, moving his hand up to stroke her hair.
"Infinity. He told her he loved her for infinity." She chuckled through her tears in disbelief.
"Oh shit, ain't that your thing with Tom?" Haz sighed.
"Not anymore."
Fuck.
