A year later....
"See it yourself then" Remus held out the parchment with neat writing.
Sirius eyes widened in shock as he read the letter from Dumbledore. Harry sat on the other chair in front hid his dads, patiently waiting for them to tell him what the letter was about. "It must be something about me killing the Basilisk last June. I bet they have sent me some gift? An award?" he thought, feeling proud of himself.
"You have got to be kidding" Sirius exclaimed. " Moony just got a job offer from Hogwarts!" Sirius said, pulling in both Harry and Remus into a bone crushing hug.
"Job offer?" Harry's little bubble of imagination about being awarded for his brave action popped.
"Moony is going to be your new Defense against Dark arts teacher." Sirius beamed.
"Whoa!" Harry cheered.
"I am not sure if I should take the offer" Remus looked down, fidgeting his fingers.
"Why not?!" Harry and Sirius who were celebrating the news gasped in unison.
"I am not the right kind of person to be around kids. I don't want to put all of them in danger every month. What will their parents think about their children being near a monster like me?" he said, neither looking at his husband nor his son.
" You are NOT a monster, Remus. We have talked about this" Sirius comfortingly touched his shoulder while Harry hugged him.
"Yeah, Moony. You will be a great teacher and students will surely love you. " Harry said, "Besides I would have loved having you at school."
"Prongslit it right. You will be a great teacher. Who cares if you are a warewolf? Your talents are amazing." Sirius tried to persuade him.
"As much as you two try to change my mind, I am aWARE of my condition and I know it is not good for the kids. I am refusing the offer" Remus said.
But he regretted saying it the next second, Sirius and Harry looked really unhappy. They were jumping in joy just now. He felt guilty that he ruined it. But isn't it for the best? Sirius and Harry gave him a pouty faced puppy dog eyes. Fuck! Sirius thought their son to do that to get what they want, and Remus was not immune to this.
"With the rat on loose don't you think that it would be better if we were around Prongslit? To keep him safe?" Sirius suggested.
Remus could not find a reason to contradict Harry's safety. Since when Sirius is being reasonable? Thus he gave in, accepting the offer.
