1%"no no no" (y/n) chewed on her bottom lip, blinking away tears.
the phone began to glitch out right before she was able to call an uber.
the screen went dark.
"fuck!"
today really couldn't get worse. oh wait. it just did.
she was left alone, in a city she'd just moved to two weeks ago with no coat. her stupid tinder date.
he was nice when they first started talking, he'd offered to pick her up and show her the city. he'd picked her up and (y/n) had taken her coat off when she got in his car.
at their first stop, a fancy restaurant, she got out the car and before she could even grab her coat from the car he drove off. leaving her stranded with no coat and an almost dead phone in a city she didn't know.
(y/n) was walking the streets. it was really late and her dress didn't cover much nor kept her warm.
with no phone to call and uber and no clue how to use the subway or what stop to get off at she started crying. after finally coming across a bench she sat down.
so, this is the end?
"hey. are you ok?"
she looked over to the man.
"pardon?"
"do you need help?" he was tall and wearing dark clothing but despite the fact he was a) a man who was out late at night and b) talking to a young, venerable girl who's dress hardly covered her ass, his presence was calming.
"i'm alright, thank you." she sniffled and dabbed at her tears, careful not to smudge her make up more than she already had.
the man slowly approached her, showing her his hands to prove he meant no harm.
"are you sure? you were pacing around for a while and it's way too cold to be dressed like that. no offence."
she smiled half heartedly at him.
"god this sounds so stupid." she fiddled with her dead phone. "i was supposed to be on a date but he dropped me off at the restaurant then drove off with my coat and i have no clue where i am."
the man sat on the other side of the bench, letter her have her space.
"half the people here are fucking jerks. why don't you get an uber or something?"
"i was trying but my phone died. just my luck." he hummed softly.
"my names peter. peter parker. i can walk you to the subway if you want."
"oh uh. well, you see, i moved here two weeks ago and i'm not too sure of what stop i have to get off at. i've been relying on my phone to help me get around."
he chuckled. the sound was warm and welcoming and made her feel safe.
"i've lived here my whole life, i'd be happy to help you home if you feel comfortable with it."
"that would be amazing, thank you! i'm (y/n) (y/l/n).
"no problem. do you know what street you live on? i can get you to the street then leave so i don't invade on your privacy or anything." he looked nervous for a moment. "i know how tough the streets are at this time and the fact i'm a man is probably making you a little uncomfortable.
she laughed and looked at him.
"peter, i'd love for you to walk me home and so far you haven't tried to jump me or anything like that."
