That's the way I remember her
A mirage in the desert heat
Sweet memories looped on repeat
Loneliness left me to wither
How we talked all throughout the night
That's the way I remember her
Thought I was only a bother
But we were each other's delight
She whispered things to calm my fears
A promise, hope that I'd get better
That's the way I remember her
Something to help me keep her near
Beauty like a burning ember
Though I'm not there, please see for me
That she still smiles with joyful glee.
That's the way I remember her
