Chloé's POV:
"Come on, Chloé! It'll be lots of fun!" Tyler's eyes were shining and I knew he drank one too many beers. In his case that meant one and a half.
I bit my bottom lip and played with my dark blonde hair as always when I had to decide something. And this decision was a really hard one.
"I don't know, Tyler. What if someone sees us?", I said hesitantly and digged my nails into the bench's wood.
"Listen Chloé, here's the plan: we park the car outside of the area and walk to the fence on the east side of the Ultra stage. Franco should be standing right in front of it so we can easily enter and have a good night!", he explained while smiling widely.
I still hesitated to answer and tried to think logically. I was no troublemaker, I was a good girl. Not that I was a complete nerd, I loved having fun but only in a legal way. I didn't need alcohol or drugs to be happy and spend a good time with people I like.
"Don't you wanna have fun with your best friends before you move to Europe?"
Tyler grabbed my hand and intertwined our hands. I stared at his big hand covering my small one as his thumb brushed my palm softly and drew little circles on my skin. I felt a bit uncomfortable with this since I knew Taylor for few good years now.
He was my best friend. I know people think it's weird that a girl hangs out with a boy that isn't her boyfriend and most of them probably think it won't work out as 'only friends' anyways. But me and Taylor had a way better friendship than some other girls among themselves.
I sighed and thought about the offer. It was always my dream to attend such a big festival like Ultra, one of the biggest ones in the whole US. Seeing all my idols on stage, raving to their songs and maybe even forgetting about my troubles...
But creeping in without paying for tickets was definitely too dangerous."I don't think it's a good idea...", I trailed off.
He mada a 'hm' sound and stood up, running his hand through his blonde hair.
Sometimes he reminded me of one of those Disney princes with blue eyes and his skinny body. He looked like an Australian surfer boy but without all those muscles.
"You can do what you want but if you decide to join us, we'll be waiting with Franco for you until 7pm.", he smiled lightly and waved for goodbye before going back to his male friends.
***
Back at home, I decided to go on packing my things. My room already looked like I never lived here: no pictures hanging on the walls, no souvenirs from my school trips, not even my books were on my shelf as usual. Since dad told us about his new job in the Netherlands my life literally changed and did a 180. I still had no clue how to live in a country so far away without my friends. The thing that worried me most was attending a completely new school as it was the last year of school for me.
You could think a seventeen year old girl should be tough and cool enough to handle such a change in her life and think of positive things like meeting new people and a different culture. But I always have been the person who worried, complained and well, couldn't be spontaneous at all. That made it all even worse.
"Oh you're already back, Chloé?" I didn't even realize that my mum entered my room. I nodded my head and tried to smile but she didn't even look in my face, her eyes concentrated on the big moving boxes put on top of each other. Her eyes looked tired and she seemed as if she didn't wear any makeup which was very strange. My mum always put some lipstick and mascara on, even if she just wanted to go out on a walk to the forest.
"Yes but...I'm going out with Taylor and some others later.", I stuttered, not able to tell her the truth. She would probably refuse to give me any pocket money for the rest of my life if she found out.
"Oh that's nice." She looked in my direction and smiled weakly, lifting one box and exiting my room again. Something was wrong with this situation. My mum wouldn't let me go anywhere without the exact coordinates of the place, phone numbers from all of my friends and a strict time to be home again.
Suddenly a melody took me back to reality. My mobile phone. I draw my sign to unlock it and stared at the bright screen.
We're waiting for you. You don't want to miss the last chance to hang out with your buddies, do you? X
I let out a long breath and thought about the idea again and again. It was almost 7pm so that meant I could definitely make it and see few artists.
I was seventeen and never did anything bad in my life. I decided that today was the day to change that.
I'll be there in 5 minutes x
I know this chapter is pretty lame and don't worry it will get (hopefully) a bit better at least ;)
This is my first attempt of a fanfiction so don't judge me! I know it's nothing totally different but I tried to stick to my own style and ideas so just give me some feedback because I seriously don't know if it's good enough :D
