Martijn's POV:

The attempt of entering my apartment quickly and quietly failed big time. Just some seconds after I finally reached the kitchen and  steadied my body on a counter before slipping down on the floor, Chloé rushed into the room and gasped behind me. I had no energy to even turn around and meet her eyes.

My headache got worse, an unbelievable loud thumping filled my head up and made every little movement more intense and difficult for my body.

I shouldn't have done that.

I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I hoped they would let me go eventually. What's the sense of staying in the past? I decided to quit with my earlier life and move on, why couldn't they understand that?

I got back to reality as Chloé turned my body to the side, her hands rested on the back of my neck. I was unable to open my eyes, every time I tried to keep them focused on something, the pain became worse, the noise inside of my head made me groan out loudly.

"Martin...", Chloé whispered, I would always recognize her sweet voice ever so faint. I felt her thumb brushing my cheek as it suddenly hit a certain spot on my skin that made me not able to hold back my wincing.

"What happened to you?", she asked quietly, as she leaned closer to me and I couldn't hold back the urge to finally open my eyes and meet her blue ones, although the pain was incredibly hard to take.
