There were cops and people in uniforms at the docks, we watched as Lana Grubbs was crying over someone on a stretcher.
"Who's that?" John B asked a girl who was sitting by where we were standing
"It's Scooter Grubbs. He was out during the storm. Check out this pic I got. Dead body!" She said, showing each of us a picture of him on her phone.
When she showed me I pushed her phone away in disgust, not needing to see that, clicking the pen that I took from my hair.
"What kind of boat did he have?" JJ asked her
"Somehow, that dirtbag copped a brand-new Grady-White. Everyone's out looking for it." She tells us
We all share looks as his body gets wheeled away, the skin was incredibly pale, eyebags were purplish. I had to look away from the sight, clicking my pen faster in my hand to distract me.

We all sat on the porch of the Chateau, all lost in thought doing our own thing.
"Okay. So, um... we didn't see anything. We don't know anything. We need to have total and complete amnesia." Pope tells us, barging into the porch and sitting down next to Kiara.
"Actually, Pope's right for once. See, I agree with you sometimes. Deny, deny, deny." JJ says, standing up and walking over to the railing.
"Guys, we can't keep that money," Kiara tells us
"Not all of us can afford unlimited data plans, Kiara." JJ says to her
"We have to pass that off to Lana Grubbs. Otherwise, it's bad karma." Kiara explains
"Bad karma to be implicated in a felony, too. We gotta go dark." Pope adds on
"As long as I don't see another person like that again." I say, my pen rapidly clicking in my hand
"If that means we get to keep the money, then I agree." JJ says, looking out at the yard
"I don't agree." John B says, putting his hand on JJ's shoulder
I stopped the clicking of my pen and looked at him in surprise.
