22: Promoted

"What's the good news? Can't you tell us a little earlier?" You curiously asked as your group walk home

"Nope, tomorrow in our meeting" Mikey stood by his word and won't say anything about it

"Curiosity kills the cat Y/n..." Kisaki mumbled with a glare indirectly telling you to stop

"Well, I have nine lives... It's okay to take one out of it for some good news right?"

"Welp, would you look at that, it's our house! Bye~" Mikey pulled Draken away turning to a different direction from their house

"That's not even the direction where you live..." You informed

"Don't be too nosy Y/n" Shuji scolded making you frown

"Y/n, get up quick!" Shuji spoke pulling you off the couch as Kisaki went in with Takemichi and Hina

"I was about to fall asleep, wha-" you automatically shut up when you saw them three watching you

"Hey there Y/n!" Hina ran up to you and gave you a hug

"Hey, what's up?" You asked looking at the two man behind her laughing at each other

"Kisaki wanted to hang out just like the old times si here we are~" Hina smiled and handed you a cake they bought on the way

Your eyes glimmered in delight completely ignoring the fact that Kisaki's cool with Takemichi

You four spent the time together telling stories about your childhoods and what happened to you after the three of you were separated

You also gave little hints making the conversation go to what Hina and Takemichi's relationship is to give idea for Kisaki to stop taking Hina and maybe perhaps choose somebody else.

Heyyyy~ what are guys doing keeping the cake for yourself?" Mikey bursted in the door with Baji and Draken

"Why do you guys keeps appearing everywhere?" You asked keeping your slice of cake from Mikey since he's looking like he wanna take it from you.

"Let's go, the meeting is about to start" Baji smiled wrapping an arm around Kisaki pulling him away

You followed along and noticed how they are cheerful yet quite sad

"What's up with the gloomy eyes?" You asked when Mikey looked at you "This asshole set a car on fire for the third time and his mom is done with it... She's  taking him overseas to his father to focus on studying" he spoke pointing at Baji who's laughing out loud

"Why would you do that?"

"I was hungry"

"But you're leaving... What now?" You asked confused at how he can laugh after having to leave his friends and the gang

"It's fine because know I can trust someone to handle the First Division... I know now why Pah and Peh trusted you two" he looked at Kisaki that's playing with Takemichi as he looks back confusedly "what?"

"Listen up! The first division will have another captain until I come back, so make sure you stay behave while I'm gone!" Baji shouted infront of the members with Mikey and Draken infront

"Kisaki Tetta, you're promoted to be the First Division Captain!" Mikey called out as Kisaki walks infront

"Woah- he's promoted?"

"Takemichi Hanagaki, you're taking his place and handle the Third Division" Draken continued

You stood still thinking about it.

'That means I'm under Takemichi?'

"And, we have new members joining us from Black Dragons... Come on up." Mikey spoke as two new guys in Toman uniform walked from behind him

"Yo, M'lady!" Koko waved at you

"I'm looking forward to working with you. We're joining under the Third Division" Inui boredly spat before coming down to go beside you

"So I'll be under Takemichi now?" You asked Mikey and he nodded

"Hey, Chifuyu! Wanna swap division?" You called out to Chifuyu as he frown at you

"Nope, I'm fine thanks."

"Oh c'mon, you'll be with Takemichi!" You tried again but he shook his head no

You huffed "boomer.."

"Hey Y/n... I'm not that lame.... right?" Takemichi mumbled confused on why don't you wanna work as his Vice Captain

"No you're not, but Tetta's better" you bluntly answered as he looked a little more offended

"Damn, don't be so harsh on your captain Y/n" Baji laughed patting Takemichi's back

"But I wanna be on Tetta's division~"

"You're still with me" Shuji appeared raising his hand up

"Yeah, but not with Tetta" you whispered sitting on the bench all gloomy and disappointed

"Y/n, it's okay. Just go with it for now.." Kisaki whispered to you and patted your back slightly

"But-"

"It's part of the plan" he continued

"What?" You looked at your two new 'servants' as they follow you walk home

"Just makin' sure you get home safely~" Koko hummed looking around the dark alley with Inui silently following

"But I'm with Shuji." You pointed at your brother who's busy playing with his phone while walking. "Plus, I can protect myself just fine" you reasoned out

"Still, we work for you so.." Inui mumbled and kept following you

"I hate stalkers, might as well kick your asses" you annoyingly whispered making Koko back away

"Right! Got it! Understood! We're leaving..." He pulled Inui away and walked opposite to your direction

You looked back and checked if they're still there and when you saw no signs of someone following, you spoke.

"What's the plan Tetta?"

He looked at you and smiled "It's all going according to plan, just stay on Takemichi's division and get close with him to find out what he's about to do."

Shuji looked at Kisaki but shrugged and decided not to say anything

You three arrived home and right before you enter the door, Shuji pulled you and whispered

"You sure you're okay getting used like this Y/n? Don't you think you're being used too much just like how you were using your previous Life captains?"
