This was it. Today was the day our fates will be decided. Today was the day history could change itself. Today was the day it will be decided if we could play in the finals.
Gryffindor versus Hufflepuff.
Hufflepuff was standing at one win. Ravenclaw and Slytherin were both standing at one win and one lose while Gryffindor was standing at one lose.
If Hufflepuff wins today, Gryffindor will be out of the Quidditch League. If we loose then we have to compete with Slytherin in May and the winning team would play the finals with the team winning between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.
Confusing? Well, not for Clare.
These are lines she has said to Laura and me so many times in the past week that it's on my fingertips now.
However, this enthusiasm has definitely had it's impact on us and the result was that both Laura and I have painted a yellow badger on our cheeks. And all thanks to our art skills, it came out fantastic.
So right now, Laura was sketching the badger with black kajal on our housemates and I was filling them with yellow paint. We have been doing this since six in the morning which caused Clare to be more grateful towards us than she has felt in a very long time.
Tired, we went out to have our breakfast at 8. A few Hufflepuffs were still left while a few resorted to painting different things in black and yellow themselves.
Laura sat opposite me.
Clare looked nervous out of her mind when we sat beside her. The team was discussing today's tactics so we decided not to interrupt. Instead, we passed on a sandwich on which we have made a smile with ketchup. She smiled nervously at us.
We began with our breakfast.
"Should I go and paint Regulus too?" Laura asked and took a bite from her croissant.
"I doubt he would agree," I said.
"Of course he would agree. No one can turn down Laura Jones' charming skills," she flipped her hair dramatically.
I shrugged. "You can try."
"Try what?" Remus asked as he took a seat beside me. Things were great between him and I. Better than I could have ever imagined.
My heart leapt a beat as I took in his tired attire. It was full moon tonight making Remus look awfully sick. He needed to sleep to save any energy he can. "Are you going to attend today's match?" I asked.
"Of course I am. I would never miss a Quidditch match," he said.
"But Remus, you look really tired. You should sleep," I suggested.
"I am fine Athea."
"Remus please.."
He sighed. "It's hard to sleep these days," he whispered.
"Eat kiwi. It helps in sleeping," I advised.
"I will try after the game."
"Promise?"
"I promise," he smiled. "The badger looks cute by the way."
Laura and I looked at each other and a silent message passed between us. I turned to look at Remus again with a sweet smile.
"Umm Remus," I called.
He raised an eyebrow. "I am getting Sirius' vibes from you."
I chuckled. I licked my lips causing him to look down at them. "I want to try something. Can I do that?" I asked sweetly. He looked into my eyes again.
