Mornings... They're usually oh so peaceful for me, not this morning though..
*Knock*
*Knock*
*Knock*It was six in the morning when I heard knocking at my window. Now knocking isn't the right term for it because I live in a two-story house and my room is on the second floor so I'm pretty sure this noise is something being thrown... repeatedly. As you can tell I'm not impressed, who in their right mind thought it was okay to wake me up so damn early? Maybe it's someone with a death wish? Or possibly I'm just going insane and there's really nothing there.... fingers crossed. I'm more okay with it being my imagination than it being an actual person and I think that's a little messed up of me to say or to even think.... who cares hahaha.
I walk over to my window and pull the curtains open to get a better view. A few seconds have passed and I've seen no one.
"Phew, it was just my imagination" I mumbled to myself.
As I'm about to turn around to go back to bed I hear the knocking again and when I look down I see... My neighbor? What does he want? You see the family next door to me has a son around my age. His name is Josh and he plays basketball sometimes outside, even though he is my neighbor I haven't spoken to him much unless it was a casual "good morning" or "hi" when I see him outside, but it's never a full conversation and at school, it's not even better. I have one class with him and even then I don't talk to him because I'm with raven, as a matter of fact even if I was with raven or not he'd still not talk to me because he's always with his buddies so that's even more of a reason to be confused right now. Josh was tall, has blonde shaggy hair, green eyes, and is in good shape. In school he's always goofing around and making people laugh, he's not a bad guy, I'm just a little shocked to see him outside my window that's all.
I lifted open my window so that he can talk to me clearly.
"Hi" Josh started with a smile.
"Hi?" I asked
"I know this might be weird of me to ask since we never talk or anything but... can i come in?" Josh whisper-yelled
I take a moment to think for a bit.
My mom leaves for work at five so I know she isn't home... but that's not the problem here. The problem is that I don't really know him fully like that ya know? I only know what I see and what if what I see is a whole ass lie and I wouldn't even know? I'm probably just overthinking it like always but it's just weird. After looking at the pros and cons I realized if this situation were to go south I'd have the upper hand since he has never been in here before and doesn't know where things are hidden like I do. I grabbed my pocket knife, put it under my pillow, and went downstairs to let him in.
"what's up?" I say awkwardly.
"Thank you for letting me in and nothing really i just wanted to talk to you about something." josh said with a small smile.
"Okay, well do you want anything to snack on or to drink or something?" I asked while pointing in the direction towards the kitchen.
"no thank you, i'm good" he said while patting his stomach.
I swear this is the MOST we've ever spoken to each other... why is he acting so weird though? I went into the kitchen anyways to grab some water for myself and lead him upstairs to my room.
"so...?" I started
"Oh right so... uhhm... i wanted to talk to you about raven..." he said while looking away
"what about her?" I asked sounding a bit worried.
"it's nothing wrong.. she's not in trouble or hurt or anything i'm just.... i just...-"
