Chapter 5 - Collision With An Old Foe
*Juliet's POV*
We arrived at Tortuga about an hour ago and when we arrived at the Faithful Bride traven I can honestly tell you that there are so many men and women drunk out of their mind so badly that some of them passed out. Quite ironic if you ask me as there were prostitute going about their 'job', and what made it ironic is that I saw 3 with wedding rings on their fingers."So, what did he say to you?" I asked Will as we followed Jack after he was slapped - typical. "He only said that 'if every town in the world was like this, no man would feel unwanted.'" I chucked, "how am I not surprised?"
When Jack stopped we were at a pigs pen with a bucket each full of water out in the back of the tavern, I had to stop myself self gagging from the smell but I got used to it. Jack threw the first bucket on a man who happened to be sleeping with the pigs. The man had grey hair a chubby body and two thick side burns.
"Curse you for breathing you slack-jawed idiot!" He yelled in a tempter while holding out a knife he had. That irritated looked about it faded when he saw who it was who woke him up, "Mother's love; Jack! You should know better than to wake a man when he's sleeping. 'S bad luck." He said propping himself up, "Ah, fortunately I know how to counter it. The man who did the waking buys, the man who was sleeping, a drink. The man who was sleeping drinks it while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking." Jack replied, well you have got to hand it to him he can get himself out of pretty much anything.
Deciding whether to accept the offer the man smiled, "aye, you've got yourself a deal" he said then stood up only to have me and Will throw our buckets of water over him socking him. "Blast I'm already awake!" He shouted looking at us, "that was for the smell." Will said simply before getting a shrug and a less annoyed face of the man.

"Will," I asked taking a sip of rum, we were lent on a pillar in the tavern trying not to knock any stumbling drunken folk to prevent a fight and, as Jack put it, 'keep a sharp eye and watch our backs.' "So I have come to wonder, what will happen when all of this rescue mission thing is over. Surely it won't be the same again, right?" "Jay, I know you think further ahead but think about it this way: stay in the present as the future might not go the way you hoped it." "Yes Will, I know we might not make back to Port Royal alive but we have to think about it, we'll been sailing with pirates. Won't that make us pirates to?" I said, I wasn't quite sure of what think of the idea of being a pirate. Mentally and psychically it made my mind spin and my blood pump with the idea of actually being able to do the things I've read about however I know somewhere down the line I will most likely regret my decision.
"Of course not Jay, we only sailed with the pirates because Norrington and the Governor failed to cooperate with our idea; it does not make us pirates." He replied as a woman, clearly a prostitute, started to lean on him spilling her rum and giggling. I was getting aggrieved by her unwanted company and shifted to her, "scram!" I shouted at her before she scoffed and then left us alone.
"The kid?" I heard the man who I had remembered as Joshamee Gibbs say to Jack, "that is the child of Bootstrap Bill Turner. His only child, savvy?" I looked out the corner of my eye and saw both Jack and Mr. Gibbs looking at Will. "Is he, now? 'Leverage,' says you. 'I think I feel a change in the wind,' says I. I'll find us a crew. There's bound to be some sailors on this rock crazy as you. But what about the girl?" Gibbs asked, "remember back when I was 13, that friend I had who dreamed about being a pirate I told you about? The one who left the family a year after his mother died after giving birth to his baby sister and left his father raise her on her own. The boy who I helped his father raise his sister?" "Aye, where are you going with this."
