Chapter 13 - Passing Time With Pirates On A Small Island
*Juliet's POV*
It was midday when me and Jack had a competition, its was a childish game I used to play all the time with Charles and Jade. Treasure hunt. What it used to be was we were given five things to find around town and that fastest person to find the things and come back with them to home base won. It was the most fun I remember having."So a starfish, a coconut, three pebbles, a crab shell and a sea snail?" Jack asked making sure he understood the treasurers, "aye." I said then looked at Elizabeth, "are you sure you don't want to play Liz?" "No thank you June, someone has to be the judge and make sure no one cheats." She smiled. Although she was in a bad mood earlier I had a long talk with her, catching up with things and had a great laugh. "Alright, well if you change your mind we can have a round two and you can join if you want." I smile and she nods and sits down on the beach, "okay." "So Jay," Jack said making me look at him, "ready to get your but kicked?" I scoffed, "yeah right, bite my dust." "Ready?" Elizabeth said, "Go!" And with that me and Jack ran in different directions to scaven for the 'treasure'.

It took me half an hour to find all the things I needed, I would have won if Jack wasn't so tall. He could climb faster up the coconut trees thus being able to reach one of the treasures faster than me.
"That's not fair!" I panted bending over catching my breath as Jack fell to the ground panting like me. "Love, I'm a pirate. I don't play fair." He said, indeed he hasn't played fair; he tripped me up several times however I tripped him up multiple times and one time I tripped him up I accidently knocked him unconscious for a moment or so. "However I think you're just as much a pirate as I am with those dirty tricks, knocking me out." I just grinned at Jack's comment, "I wouldn't call myself pirate, I only went on this voyage to rescue and save Elizabeth, I didn't come here because I wanted to become a pirate." I replied sitting down and giving Elizabeth a one armed hug. "Aww, June." Elizabeth smiled, I grinned in return before taking a swig from my second bottle of rum. "Ah, but see that's all it takes; a small voyage to find something - in your case to save Elizabeth here - and when you get back you'll be craving for the next voyage. In no time you'll pick up pirate tricks and what to sail the world forever, savvy?" I just looked at him and shook my head, "I doubt it." "Jack, I must speak my mind but I've known June for most of her life and I can tell she is much more suited, and wanted to be on land in Port Royal." Elizabeth stated. "Elizabeth darling," Jack said putting an arm around her, "I've known Juliet when she was a small baby. I can feel she has a pirate instinct, savvy?" Elizabeth scrunched her face up and pushed his arm off.
Honestly, I don't know if I want to be a pirate, I mean yeah, all those stories I read about seem thrilling and great fun but I have Hayley and father. I can't leave father, he'll have no one left if I leave. I can't do that. He's probably sick out of his mind with worry because I'm not home, last I saw of him was he was injured by the Pearl's attack. The last words I heard him say was 'stay safe and don't get in trouble.' Yeah right, I'm marooned for god sake on this pitiful land.
I must have been looking really glum as Elizabeth slung her left around around me - we were all sat in a line - me and asked if I was okay. "Are you okay?" "Yeah, just thinking about my father. That last I saw of him he was injured and I couldn't do anything about it." "Oh June," Elizabeth said hugging me tight, "it'll be alright, he'll pull through." "I hope so."
After a few moments of silence Jack spoke, "ladies, I propose a toast." He said making us look at him, he had a toothy smile about him, "to the trio of marooned souls." He said raising his rum as me and Elizabeth clinked our bottles with each other's, "so the marooned trio." We said together clinking our bottles.
