It was just another usual boring Monday.

"Get up Riya! Or you'll be late for school and then don't blame me for dropping you off late."

"Ughh! Okay okay!" Riya got up, brushed her teeth and wore her uniform. It was a special day for 15- year old Riya - It was her first day at school after two months of summer holidays. Her previous year had been pretty fun since they had had a new class teacher and they had irritated him the whole year.

Riya was the normal, naughty and funny girl who knew just what she wanted. She was this brave little kid who no matter what happened, tried to keep herself and others around her happy. Whenever she gets angry, she cries; Whenever she stands up to someone, she cries. That was a problem of hers she still had to work on. But that's okay because she loved herself no matter what. 

She looked at herself in the mirror. 

"Damn, I look pretty good." she thought to herself as she saw her thick curly black hair fall right above her shoulders.

Now back to the first day of school; Riya had her breakfast and got ready. Her mom dropped her off at school and waved goodbye. She stood in front of her school and read out loud:

BLUE VALLEY PUBLIC SCHOOL

"Ah! Good to be back. Here's to another great year I guess." Her school was pretty huge. It had a Swimming pool, Cricket nets, Basketball court, Tennis court,  a Volleyball court and not to mention the huge-ass ground. 

That being said, Riya stepped in and walked into her new classroom 10 B. She was the  first student to have arrived so the entire school was empty. She roamed the corridors for about fifteen minutes until everyone started coming. 

The first person to arrive who she was close with was Nidhi. They spoke about their Summer vacations and stuff teenagers talk about. Then the boys started coming. Now, when I say that Riya was pretty close with the boys, I mean it. She spoke with all of them; and then came Akul Acharya. Akul was special. Why? He was her ex-boyfriend.

He had asked Riya out the previous year (he was Riya's first boyfriend) and they really liked each other, that is until they stopped talking to each other. For some reason, the communication between them got so bad that Riya got tired of it and broke up with him because she didn't want to lose him as a friend too. They still liked each other but were too shy to tell each other that. 

So, Riya just said hi to Akul and didn't speak much. One thing for Riya was that except Nidhi, all her other girl friends were put in the other class.  So off she went to meet them.

"Hey guys!" she shouted across the room.

"Heyyyyy!" shouted back Amitha, Indu, Zoya, Keerthi, Nia and Janavi running towards her to hug her. They were all basically sisters and loved each other to death. After a long hug, Riya went on to fist bump with Jayanth (It's an Indian school, hugging boys is a huge no-no) who was one of her best friends too.

Now, may I take this moment to tell you that Riya belonged to the "Cool Friends Group" which everyone wished they were in. Saying that, her and her friends weren't like the mean girls going about saying "You can't sit with us!" They were just former classmates who were really cool. Now, the people in this friend group were Riya, Nidhi, Amitha, Indu, Zoya, Keerthi, Nia, Janavi, Akul, Jayanth, Srujan, Ankith and Prithvi. The closest of friends. Since you know that now, let's continue. 

After catching up with her friends she went back to her class and continued chatting. They had their morning assembly where the Principal welcomed them all back to school. Fast-forward a boring assembly to first period, they found out who their class teacher was and he took Social class. It was a boring day and they did nothing except introduce themselves to their teachers but Riya loved being with her friends after the long holidays. They didn't get any homework that day and after a long day of doing nothing, they went back home.
