"Is the ground shaking? No it's probably just me dying." she thought as she fought to stay awake. But she was right. The ground was shaking. Why? No one knew. It started to increase and the vines around Akul started to break. A twenty-five feet drop. Death was imminent.
Snap.
He screamed as he began to drop.
"AKUL!" screamed Nidhi as she and the others saw their friend fall. Riya couldn't watch. She was helpless and exhausted. She went blank and fell to the ground.
First blink - She saw Vihaan bolt across the hall and catch Akul safely. "What the fuck?"
Second blink - She saw a Wolf. "Jupiter?"
Third blink - A woman in a flowing grey-white gown, jet black hair and glowing honey-colored skin standing where Jupiter was before. "What the-"
Her body gave up and she went out cold.
"VIHAAN!?" She woke up with a jump and looked around, confused. It was dark; she realised she was in her bedroom back at her house. She quickly tried to recollect all that had happened.
"There's no way. This is a dream." she told herself as she moved to get off her bed. "Ow! Shit, What the fuck!?" she almost screamed as she felt a piercing pain in her chest. She limped to the mirror and lifted her shirt, trying to make sense of the pain she had felt only using the light of the moonlight that shone through her windows.
A white band-aid was taped to her chest. She removed it a little but couldn't see anything except for what looked like stitches. She stuck the band-aid back in place as slowly as she could to avoid the pain. She walked towards her bathroom and turned on the lights.
"It really happened." she told herself as she looked at a scarred reflection of her face in the mirror. "But why did Vihaan stab her in the back? Why had he gone and saved Akul later on? Was that even real? How had they come back? Did they even come back!? Shit!"
She got out of the bathroom and began looking for her phone to check on her friends but couldn't find it anywhere. "It must be downstairs."
She opened her bedroom door and light from the living room downstairs lit up her face. She could hear voices.
"Shouldn't we check on her?" said a boy.
"No. Calm down, she's sleeping." said another.
"Why should we listen to you!? You betrayed us! You betrayed her!" said the other again.
"I told you! I had to do it! I had to stall until Jupiter got there! You would've died if it weren't for me!" clapped back who now Riya recognized as Vihaan's voice.
"Oh my God!? Can you guys stop! The main thing is that we're all safe. End of story." said Nidhi rolling her eyes.
Riya let out a huge sigh of relief but she had so many questions. She almost ran down the stairs but stopped. She thought of what she would say to them and sat down on the first step.
"I can't believe we almost died!" said Akul.
"Yeah. You've been saying that ever since we got back. We get it, we were there too!" replied Amitha, clearly fed up with all the chaos.
"I'm sorry but it's so unbelievable!"
Riya's heart dropped. She had put her friends in danger multiple times. The smile on her face faded as dark thoughts started flooding her head. "No!" she stopped herself. She would handle this later. Right now, she decided to wing it, and slowly made her way down. Carefully moving in a way that was the least painful for her.
