^When she asked you to dance with her^ ———— it was valentine's day and you and your wife, katherine, were sitting in the living room watching your twin daughters play. you had glasses of red wine in your hands. katherine stood up from where she was sitting and said 'girls it's ten pm which means time for bed' 'nooooooo' they both whined 'c'mon please' katherine whined back 'i'll put candy in your lunchboxes tomorrow if you go to bed' you said 'ok' they said then raced upstairs to their rooms 'how the hell' katherine questioned you 'it's called bribes kat' you told your wife 'yea whatever' she said and walked upstairs when she came back downstairs she talked to the Alexa 'Alexa, play Perfect by Ed Sheeran' katherine said 'Playing Perfect by Ed Sheeran' she said back she walked over to you grabbed her wine and went to the middle of the room. she turned around to look at you and when she did she gave you a genuine smile and put her hand out. 'can i have this dance' she asked 'if you put that wine glass down' you said she walked over to the coffee table and put the glass down 'now can i have this dance' she asked sticking her hand out in front of you 'now you may' you said grabbing her hand and standing up she pulled you to the middle of the room. she put her arms around your waist as you put your arms around her neck. you started slow dancing when your daughters came down. 'i had a nightmare' evelyn, your first born said 'well if you had a nightmare then what is your sister doing down here' you asked evelyn 'i didn't want to be alone' hannah, your youngest said 'we want to watch you dance' evelyn said 'fine, go and sit on the couch, okay?' you told them 'okay' they said and sat on the couch 'alexa, play just the two of us' you told the alexa 'playing just the two of us' she responded katherine pulled you closer and put her hands where they originally were, you did the same. you started slow dancing and you put your head on katherine's shoulder 'our song huh?' she whispered in your ear 'my favorite song' you whispered back you took your head off her shoulder and rested your forehead against hers. 'i love you' she whispered then kissed your lips 'i love you too' you said in between the first and second kiss 'ewwwww' your daughters said with disgusted faces 'what do you want me to do' katherine said turning to the twins they looked at each other and then back to katherine 'twirl her' the both screamed katherine twirled you just like they told her too but added a dip at the end. she pulled you up from the dip and held you close. the twins started clapping which made you both start laughing. 'okay, time for actual bed now' you said looking at the girls 'okay' they said you picked evelyn up and katherine picked up hannah, taking them upstairs to their room. 'are you guys okay, can we leave' you asked them 'yes, i'll protect hannah from the monster' evelyn said 'okay well goodnight both of you' katherine said 'goodnight' the twins said right as you walked out you shut the door and walked downstairs. 'can we finish the bottle of wine now' you asked katherine 'yes please' she said making you laugh
