"Oh my god, I am so excited to see you!" Catherine squealed from the backseat of Lindsey's car, where she sat along with several of her numerous bags and suitcases that wouldn't all fit in the trunk.
Jamie had had to pick Catherine up from the airport, and since she didn't have a car, Lindsey had offered to drive her. She was extremely grateful for this, not only because she had no other means of transportation, but because she wasn't sure if being in a small confined space with Catherine Levine was a task she was ready to brave alone.
"I'm excited to see you too." Jamie held in a sigh.
"And it's also great to finally meet Lindsey!" Catherine smiled over exaggeratedly. "I mean, I have heard so much about you from Jamie!"
Jamie made sure to face the window to her right so Catherine wouldn't see her roll her eyes. This was a boldfaced lie. Jamie had never even mentioned Lindsey's name to Catherine. As far as Jamie knew, Catherine hadn't even known Lindsey existed until that day.
"So Jamie, what's new?" Catherine asked curiously. "Any...guys?" A look of mischievousness took over Catherine's elvish features.
Jamie wasn't sure what to say. She definitely did not feel like discussing Calum with Catherine, but at the same time, she wasn't the type to tell a white lie unless it was absolutely necessary.
"She has a boyfriend." Lindsey blurted obnoxiously.
Catherine let out a gasp. "Really? Who!"
Jamie bit her lip.
"His name is Calum Hood." Lindsey smiled, receiving a soft yet well placed slap on the arm from Jamie.
"Hood? really?" Catherine wrinkled her nose and giggled. "Is he brothers with Robin Hood?" she gave a loud, high pitched laugh at her own joke and Jamie and Lindsey exchanged looks.
"Seriously though," Catherine brushed a strand of the golden blonde hair Jamie had been so jealous of as a child out of her baby blue eyes. "I'll have to meet him sometime."
"Definitely." Jamie smiled, promising to herself that she would never let that happen. She knew Catherine, and she knew Calum, and she also knew that it would definitely not be a good idea to have them meet.

"I just had the greatest idea!" Catherine announced proudly the next day over their scrambled eggs and toast.
"Really, what?" Jamie feigned curiosity and interest, bit internally, she was practically dreading the answer. One of Catherine past 'great ideas' had been that they kiss each other to check if they were lesbians.
"We should throw a party tonight!" Catherine squealed excitedly. "You can invite all of your friends! I want to meet some of the people you hang out with!"
"No." Jamie said immediately.
"Why not?" Jamie actually felt a little bad when Catherine's shoulders sank.
"Because..." Jamie tried to think of a suitable reason why a party was a terrible idea. "Because my apartment is too small."
This was a lie, of course. Jamie had had many parties in her apartment, and had never encountered a size problem.
"Well, I was assuming 'all of your friends' would be like...four people." Catherine shrugged sheepishly.
Jamie wanted to correct Catherine and say that she had, in fact, five friends, but she decided not to.
"It's just not a good idea," Jamie said obstinately. "They're probably all busy... besides, its too short of notice..."
"No it's not!" Catherine argued. "And you won't know if they're busy until you call and ask them."
Realizing she had no leg to stand on, and no possible argument, she finally caved. "Fine," She sighed. "I'll call them later."
"Yay! You're the best!"
Jamie was almost suffocated by her cousin's honey coloured hair as Catherine swooped in for a tight hug.
As Catherine scurried away to get ready (because apparently she needed a whole afternoon do do so), Jamie ran a frustrated hand through her auburn hair.
Oh god. I'm already regretting this.

That evening, just as Jamie had taken a seat on the sofa to wait for her guests, Catherine stepped out of the bathroom, and Jamie's jaw dropped.
Catherine was wearing a pair of jean shorts that brought a whole new definition to the word 'short', and a glittery, navy blue tube top that showed off a silver navel piercing. In conclusion, the outfit left nothing to the imagination.
"What the hell are you wearing?" Jamie exclaimed, jumping up from her seat.
"What? is their something wrong?" Catherine frantically glanced at her outfit as if she was searching for a stain or a label sticking out.
"You're dressed like a stripper!" Jamie cried, trying to yank down Catherine's top to cover a little more skin.
"What are you, my mother?" Catherine rolled her eyes, brushing past Jamie and sprawling out on the couch. "This is a casual outfit!"
"You can't wear that!" Jamie argued. "This is a small party, not a strip club!"
"Oh, so it's okay for guys to walk around shirtless, but when girls show a little skin-" she gestured to her bare legs. "-it's bad?"
"There aren't going to be any shirtless guys at this party!" Jamie cried. "You can't-" before she could continue, she was interrupted by a knock at her apartment door.
"Hi Calum." She smiled when she opened the door and saw him standing there.
"Hey," He stepped into the apartment and raised his eyebrows when he caught sight of Catherine sprawled out on the couch. "Oh, is this the cousin?"
"Yep, this is Catherine, my cousin." Jamie wanted to add 'unfortunately', but she held herself back.

So, if you're wondering about the size of Jamie's apartment, just picture Jerry Seinfeld's apartment on Seinfeld or something like that, because its about that size. I
Anyway, thanks so much for reading! Sorry this is so short, but it's kinda like part one, and the next chapter is like part two, so sit tight!
