Ashton was supposed to be over at Gray's house any minuet. The weather outside had turned bitingly cold. The snow on the ground seemed to mock her.
Gray moved swiftly around her house picking clothes up off the ground, tidying up each room, and making sure she had a box of mix for hot chocolate. Her whole body buzzed with excitement as she waited. It was days like this that she loved hanging out with Ashton.
There was a knock on the door. She slipped on the hard wood floor because she was in such a hurry. She laughed when she opened the door.
Ashton stood there in a sweater and a beanie. His usual smile lighting up his features. His eyes brightened when he placed a kiss onto her lips.
They drank their hot chocolate and cuddled up onto the couch. The snow outside seemed to pick up speed as the air turned chilling.
"It's getting pretty bad out there," Gray whispered.
Ashton got up and turned on the radio. Gray sat deathly still as she listened. Ashton shook his head.
"We are experiencing quite a storm tonight. The bridge and several of the highways have been shut down for the safety of our residents. I suggest staying inside and keeping warm. It's going to be a long night."
Ashton switched off the radio and put on some music. He wandered back to the couch, Gary cuddling up to his side. Cups of hot chocolate in their hands.
Yes they were stranded in a snow storm. Yes people were probably worried about them. Yes they were perfectly fine.
But, sitting together with cups of hot chocolate was as romantic as you could get.
