Chapter 4- What happened?

Joe's P.O.V

I got into the house with Emma's suitcases, they were quite heavy. I decided to go and check on her as she had just run into the house and locked her door. I knocked, "Emma, are you okay."
"Yeah I'm fine, just unpacking." I looked over at the front door, where her suitcases and hand luggage were.
"You might have a bit of trouble doing that." I said.

Emma's P.O.V

I looked in my room and I realised that I didn't have any of my luggage in my room. Then I saw a box with some of my things in. I knew what Joe was going to say but I asked anyways. "Why?" I asked
"Because your luggage is all by the door."
"Yeah, I know, I'm unpacking a few boxes that are in here."
"Do you need any help?"
"No, I will be fine." I was still blushing and I didn't want Joe to see me like this. "ARGGH!" I screamed. I looked down to see that my foot was bleeding. Then all of a sudden someone burst into my room. It was Joe.
"Oh my, are you okay?" he questioned as he looked down at my foot.
"Are you okay we heard screaming?" Alfie questioned. Then he noticed my foot.
"What happened?" Alfie, Joe and Zoë asked simultaneously.
"I was getting out the light I use for making videos and I came across a picture..." wait I can't tell everyone about Jack, Alfie is the only one who knows the story and I don't want to tell it again it will bring back to many memories. "...and it slipped out of my hand." Technically I wasn't lying because it did slip out of hand.
"We need to get you to hospital. NOW!" Joe shouted. Before I could even say anything I got picked up bridal style by Joe and put in the passenger seat of his car. I had to turn my head away from him because I was blushing so hard right now.
As we arrived at the hospital the doctor checked my foot over to see if there was any glass in it, luckily there wasn't, and then bandaged it up to try and stop the blood. I got in the car and of we went back home. It was just me and Joe when we got back and on the table was a note.
Don't bother making any food for us we have gone out for tea. Sorry guys I know we said we would hang out with you, maybe later. -A&Z
I went to start on making food for me and Joe when I felt my self being dragged away to the couch. "You need to rest your foot; I will make something for us." It was Joe.
"Don't be silly it's just a little cut, I think I am capable on making something."
"No, you sit down there and relax." I sat down but I didn't like it because I am the kind of person who doesn't like other people doing something for me when I am perfectly capable of doing it myself. I walked over to Joe to see what he was cooking, it smelled delicious. As he plated it up he noticed me standing there. He gave me a plate and I sat down. A couple of seconds later Joe came and sat down on the opposite side of me.
"What is this? It looks delicious."
"It's just steak with a few tomatoes, onions and something else but I can't remember what it is."
"You know I am so glad you didn't let me cook something because I would have just put a pizza in the oven or something, nothing like this." We sat in silence for a couple of minutes while we ate. Then Joe broke the silence, thankfully.
"It's your birthday on 15th November isn't it?"
"Yeah?"
"I was wondering if maybe...you know...you wanna go for a birthday lunch, just us two, or if you like you can invite your friends or Alfie and Zoë."
"Sure, I would like that. Just us will be nice. I can get to know you a bit better.
"You have a YouTube acc..." Joe was interrupted by the door flinging open and then slamming shut. All of a sudden Zoë runs through the kitchen and into her and Alfie's room, slamming the door shut and locking it. There is one question going through my mind at this point.
Where is Alfie?
