I don't know why or how but I was able to chug out those last two chapters in one day in almost one sitting and it's insane to me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It had been a week since the Poison Ivy incident and Bruce had yet to see Clark in person. Though they did message each other every other day Bruce wasn't sure how he could discreetly get away to see Clark without his family questioning him and it was nearly impossible sneaking Clark in with Alfred and the boys around. Alfred somehow always knew when someone was in the manor even if he wasn't home.
Bruce did on the other hand find out that the blue substance Ivy had gotten from the garden was the element blue kryptonite that she had hidden it there a while ago. How Bruce was unaware of it was beyond him but he needed to figure out a way to retrieve it before they used it against Gotham and it's citizens.
Bruce could only assume that Ivy and Scarecrow had red kryptonite as well. Blue kryptonite usually sedated the effects of red kryptonite otherwise it's useless. He knew they could do a lot of damage if they added it to their potential poison fear toxin. He had read through a majority of his files on Kryptonite and they all lead him to that conclusion. Though he wasn't too pleased, he knew that if they stopped them early enough minimal damage would be caused and Gotham and Clark would be safe.
Because kryptonite was part of the problem he was going to bring the league for extra support. He just had to gather them first to make sure that they were all on the same page. He wasn't too nervous about the mission but he was trying to figure out how he and Clark would interact in front of the others. He wasn't sure if he was ready to share Clark with the world just yet. He liked that it was only the two of them that knew.
He pushed himself away from his monitor and rubbed the bridge of his nose. He knew it was going to be a long night especially because he heard intel about a Joker and Harley heist that was suppose to take place in a couple of hours. Bruce slipped on his cowl and made his way to the bat-mobile. He clicked on his comms and he could instantly hear Richard giving Damien a speech about acting rationally when facing the Joker. Bruce couldn't help the swell of pride that filled his chest and he heard Dick speak confidently and correctly about what to expect.
"Are you boys ready?" Bruce spoke up and both boys went silent.
"Yes sir." He could hear Richard on the receiving end, "we're outside of the bank now. I'm across the street above the entrance and Damien is scoping out the back."
"I'll be there in ten." Bruce got into the bat-mobile and started the engine, "do not engage until I'm there."
He could hear two clear 'yes sirs' and he silenced his comm. The bat-mobile lit up as he pulled out of the Bat-cave and onto the secret road that lead to the city. He knew all the best back ways and passages to get him in and out the city unnoticed. Bruce hit the streets and quickly made his way to the bank where nearly all the streets were empty and the street lamps were off. He got out the car and clicked a button to make it park several blocks over so not to be seen by anyone. He grappled up a roof across the bank and he could see both Richard and Damien sticking to the shadows on their own roofs.
He turned his comm back on, "any movement since we last spoke?"
"Harley is just below Damien getting the explosives ready." Richard spoke with confidence, "she has a bunch of goons with her maybe a dozen or two."
"And joker?" Bruce pulled out his binoculars and spotted Harley clipping dynamite to the back doors.
"I haven't seen him yet." Dick sighed, "I think he's waiting for her to bust the doors open."
"Let's take her out before she can do that." Bruce grunted and put his binoculars away.
Both boys got into position and Bruce threw four smoke grenades across the way. He put on his night vision and watched as the boys did the same. With one quick jump he was flying down aiming for one of the goons in the process. He landed on a goon who was instantly knocked out by the sheer force of his impact. He could see the outline of Harley who was moving faster to get the explosives in order. She was scrambling because of the smoke and the darkness. He quickly made his way to her and without a second thought knocked her out with a jab to one of her nerves. She crumpled and he dragged her to the side to ensure she didn't get stomped on by anyone.
