Life's too short to even care at all, oh
I'm losing my mind losing my mind losing control, oh oh
These fishes in the sea they're staring at me oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
A wet world aches for a beat of a drum
OhIf I could find a way to see this straight
I'd run away
To some fortune that I, I should have found by nowI'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down, come down.
Life's too short to even care at all, oh, oh
I'm coming up now, coming up now out of the blue, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
These zombies in the park they're looking for my heart, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
A dark world aches for a splash of the sun, oh, ohIf I could find a way to see this straight
I'd run away
To some fortune that I, I should have found by nowAnd so I run now to the things they said could restore me
Restore life the way it should be
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come downLife's too short to even care at all, oh, oh
I'm losing my mind losing my mind losing controlIf I could find a way to see this straight
I'd run away
To some fortune that I, I should have found by nowSo I run now to the things they said could restore me
Restore life the way it should be
I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come downOne more spoon of cough syrup now, whoa.

I found Cough Syrup in a book i was reading here on wattpad. i immediately knew i was going to be addicted to this song. it has this kind of melody you can help but listen on repeat. in the book i read, the author said "cough syrup is a song of sadness. it is a song you listen on repeat all day laying in your bed, staring at the ceiling and try not to break." and i totally agree with this idea. every time i listen it i fall into a loop of sadness and happiness and emptiness. there is no in between. you just feel yourself caught in a storm if feelings and it isn't as scary as it sounds. it is surprisingly and utterly peaceful. when the song ends, all you can do is smile foolishly as your tears kiss your cheeks.
