No lover leaves a rose garden without the blood on their hands

"Namjoon?" Seokjin spoke in confusion as he opened the door. He didn't expect anyone, let alone Namjoon to be visiting him at eight in the afternoon. But there he was, standing in front of him, a slight smile sitting on his lips even though his puffy eyes suggested otherwise."Sorry, I know it's a bit late but I needed to tell you something." Namjoon replied, making Seokjin step away from the door, letting him in.
"Sure, come on in." He added, flashing a smile to the other, as a series of different things ran through his mind.
Namjoon nodded as he made his way to the living room and sat down on the sofa.
"Do you want something to drink? You don't look so good. Is everything alright?" Seokjin asked, taking a seat besides the other.
"No, I'm good, thank you." Namjoon let out a soft sigh, looking back at the other as he continued. "I actually came to tell you that I broke up with Tae."
Seokjin softly gasped as a heavy feeling in his stomach occupied his mind, followed with a mix of euphoria and fear. That was the last thing he expected to hear. "Are you serious?"
"Why do you look so surprised?" Namjoon chuckled, his gaze traveling away from the other's face.
"I guess I just didn't see it coming, I mean, you guys have been together for a little less than a year and I don't know. I just didn't expect you to break up. He's a great guy after all, beautiful, funny..." Seokjin shrugged, focusing his eyes on the floor.
"Oh come on Jin, you know it was a done deal a week ago." Namjoon paused and sighed, getting tired of an awful feeling of guilt. "It's better this way, for both of us and I know I will never be able to match up to him. I just feel terrible, I broke him to pieces. I lost a best friend, again." Namjoon felt his eyes forming tears again as he covered his face with his hands, unsure of how he was supposed to feel now after he got what he wanted.
He hated how he had to lose something, in this situation someone, in order to get something better. Or so he hoped it was better. He hoped that with Seokjin, he would be the happiest he had ever been. That hope was all he had left.
Seokjin sighed, pulling the other in a tight hug. "Break-ups are supposed to feel terrible, no matter what's waiting for you around the corner. He just needs some time to get over it and you know he will be okay. Stop being so hard on yourself, you're a great person Joon, not everything will work out in life and there's no use in stressing over things you can't control. And after all, this isn't your fault, it's mine."
"It's no ones fault. It's just... you should've seen the look on his face, I just can't let go of it. I feel like I killed someone, and that was the last thing I wanted when I came to Seoul to see him a year ago. I wanted to make him happy, and now all I've done was throw it all away. He probably thinks it was all a lie." He sighed, wiping the tears off of his face.
