Allen POV

"You send in one person for me. Am I really thought of so lowly." I let off the button. I turn to the furry in front of me. "So you thought you could take me out solo?" I ask.

Before she could answer the radio crackles on.  "file says that you leave no survivors. Yet two of them stand next to me." a voice responds.

I ignore them having gotten a condescending reply. I turn to the furry in front of me. "What's your name?" I ask.

She spits on the ground in front of me. "Why so you can use me as leverage." she sneers.

I chuckle realizing she doesn't know why I'm not to be taken lightly. "You never heard why you shouldn't take me alone. Did you? Well it was a few years ago. Me, and my unit were evacuating citizens. We got ambushed taking fire from all sides. One by one my unit fell till it was just me. When the furries closed in I popped a smoke grenade. Then one by one I gutted them." I finish pulling a smoke grenade. "I lost my brother that day. I will see him again, but not yet." I finish. I walk to the back door to check my exit.

Instead of an empty field I'm met with reptile soldiers. I walk to the main room, and put my pistol to the furries head.

???

"This is Viper one to command. We have located the target waiting for orders." I radioed.

"This is command your orders are to eliminate the target, and any hostiles." they replied.

I motioned my team to move in. As we closed in a sniper round ripped through my second in commands head. "Sniper! Return fire." I yelled. I started shooting where the shot came from.

As we peppered the snipers position the cabin door opened. As I turned to take aim a smoke grenade landed at my feet. The smoke quickly blinded me, and my team.

As I tried to move out of the smoke I could hear a pistol. It fired three times. I hopped on comms " viper squad sound off." I ordered. I was met with silence I quickly sprinted out of the smoke. Once out I turned, and took aim.

When I spotted movement I took aim at it. It was too short for one of mine so fired. The smoke cleared, and to my horror what I shot was one of my team. Their legs were cut off at the knee.

The last thing I heard was a knife flying through the air. Before it lodged in my left eye. I pulled it out only to have a pistol in my face.

The one holding it was a human covered in ash. They grabbed my comms turning it on. "Viper one is dead Tagert out." as they finished they pulled the trigger.

Allen POV

The body of the rep- fuck it I'm gonna call them scaleys. Once the body was on the ground I leaned down. I took note of the sniper keeping their sights on me. Smart move otherwise I'd kill them. I took the smoke, and flashbang grenades. I popped the smoke first once it obscured me, I pulled the pin on the flash bang. I tossed it towards the sniper, then ran.

I still had the furry radio, and it crackled to life. "If you run I'll have no choice but to arrest Betty, and her father." the same voice tells me. I stop dead in my tracks looking at my options.

On one hand I can run, and escape probably never to be caught. At the price of Betty, and her father never being free. On the other hand I let them take me, and repay them for saving my life.

It only took a couple seconds to ponder my choice.

Veronica POV

After I gave the human his option the radio stayed silent. After a minute I turned to the Greenwaters. "Well looks like he chose to run, and let you two pay for it." I stated.

"I wouldn't be so sure." the father stated with a scowl. I turn, and spot the human standing just over a hundred meters away.

"So what do you choose?" I asked coldly. Since this human nearly got ann killed. I'm not in the best mood for niceties.
