Allen POV

I woke up after a few hours of sleep in a cold sweat. My dream consisted of the day I lost my brother. I got up getting dressed as quietly as I could, and exited the barracks. I walked in the darker parts of the base to not be bothered. I reached the shooting range which is currently empty.

I took a seat in a corner with a flashlight, and read the piece of paper again. Looking at the logo it looked like two rifles crossed over a test tube. 'maybe it's some kind of weapon development company. That doesn't help me though. I need to check those reptiles.' I debated in my head. Making up my mind I went to find supply then the armory.

I found the supply, and broke in to load up on gear, and supplies. After getting enough to last me a few days I head to the armory. Leaning out I spot a single guard just like last time. 'You would think they would put more guards.' I think to myself. I quickly put the guard in a rear naked choke hold till they pass out. Not wanting to waste time I grab an M4A1 with five mags.

I get to the gate that's still broke with six guards watching for enemies. I cut the fence out of sight, and crawl through to the other side. "Did you think no one was watching you." a voice says ahead of me. I look up to see Steven standing there with a blank stare at me. He's wearing full gear with a rucksack on his back.

"What're you doing up? I thought you fell asleep." I ask.

"I figured one night you would want to check the bodies for Intel. So let's get going before the other wake up." he says helping me up.

"Alright let's get going." I reply following him away from the fort. We matched into the dark to find answers on the light.

Anna POV

My alarm goes off waking me up for the day. I get dressed brush my teeth, and exit the female barracks. I head to chow hall for breakfast, and the nectar of life coffee. I'm in the middle of enjoying my coffee when I hear the captain yelling. Leaving my food behind I head outside to see what happened.

Some poor guy was standing at attention while the captain verbally tore him a new one. "You mean to tell me that Allen got the drop on you? Where was your battle buddy at when this happened?" she demands. So Allen took off in the middle of the night.

"He told me he was going to the latrine." the guy tells her. I look around seeing everyone on our team except Allen, and Steven!

"Has anyone seen sergeant Greenwater?" I ask loudly. All I hear is a lot of no's confirming my suspicions. "What all is missing from the armory?" I ask.

"An M4A1, two hundred forty rounds of five five six for that. The other weapon missing is M249, and six hundred rounds of five five six for that." he says quickly.

"Alright sergeant Brokers gear up the team. We need to get out there, and find them before the enemy does. Fall out!" Captain yells out.

Allen POV

We reached the house just as day light creeped over the trees. "All right they probably realize we're gone. Let's get to work." Steven tells me. We go to the back of the house, but start gagging as we round the corner. The reptiles are well into decomposition since their discolored. Steeling my nausea I begin to search the bodies for info.

What we manage to find is a radio, gps, unit patches, and keys. We move far enough away from the bodies to not smell them. "What do you make of this stuff Steven?" I ask him.

"Well the patches don't mean anything to us. The keys have no vehicle key. The GPS might give us their previous locations, and the radio we can use to listen for enemy comms." he tells me.

"Alright let's get the GPS running, and get going. The captain will be coming soon." I state. I get the GPS running, and check saved locations. With a little luck there's saved locations not far from where we are. "The closest location on this is twelve clicks west." I tell him. We get moving towards where the GPS has pointed us. As we walk I put the keys, and the radio in my pockets.

Veronica POV

We load up in the heli heading towards the Greenwater house. "Captain what do you think is the reason sergeant Greenwater joined private Tagert?" corporal Folberge asked.

"The sergeant gave his word to Tagert to aid him in this fight. With any luck those two will stay semi safe." I reply.

"Captain the only thing I don't understand is why he didn't tell me." Betty says confused. Sergeant Brokers reaches over putting a hand on the girls shoulder.

"When we find them we'll ask him directly. Ok?" Anna comforts the girl. Betty gives a little nod in understanding, and tightens her grip on her MP5. The rest of the heli ride is suffocating in the awkward silence. Soon though we reach the house, but no Steven, or Allen.

We exit the heli, and I give the pilot the signal to go up to scan the area. I turn back towards the house looking for any sign of them. We head to the back of the house to see a pile of patches. "They were here. Fan out for clues on where they went." I order. It doesn't take long for us to find their tracks.

"Captain!" Anna calls out for me to come over. As I get to her I see what she's looking at is fresh boot prints. "It looks like they headed west at least a few hours ago." she tells me. I have everyone group up on my location.

"All right. Let's find them before they kick a hornets nest." I tell them.
