"Everybody, I'd like to make a toast," Foggy proclaims, tapping his pen on the side of his glass, "To me, for being amazing in every way."
"And of course to Y/n and Karen for-"
"Doing your job for you?" Karen interjects. "Not what I was going to say, but alright then. And to Matt for being there, I guess," Foggy jokes, Matt shaking his head at him. "So cheers."
"Cheers," the three of you respond in unison, raising your glasses.
"So how does it feel to win your first court case at Nelson and Murdock, newbie?" Karen nudges you playfully.
"Does stopping the trial from happening in the first place count as winning a court case?" you inquire, and Karen shrugs.
"It does in our books," she quips, and gestures to Matt and Foggy, who seem to be in very high spirits, "And it certainly does in theirs."
"I'm having dinner with an old friend tonight, so I have to get going. Keep them out of trouble," you point at the two of them, gathering your things before starting to head out of the office.
"I'll see you guys tomorrow," you put on your jacket, and wave the two lawyers off.
"Be careful," Matt calls out after you, and you smile, before responding, "I always am." Or in more truthful words, I never am, but he doesn't need to know that.

"So what are you doing back in New York?" you ask Yelena, who tosses a fry in the air, catching it in her mouth. "That's confidential," she smirks.
"Of course it is," you laugh lightly, rolling your eyes at her, "Let me guess, Val sent you on another little mission?"
"Maybe," she tilts her head to the side, looking at you suspiciously, "I want to know more about this hot boss of yours."
"I never said he was hot," you respond calmly, attempting to steal one of her fries as she swats your hand away.
"You didn't have to, you always act the same way when you have a little crush," she teases, pulling her plate further away from you so you don't take any of her food.
"And how do I act then?" you lean back in your seat, crossing your arms.
"You overcompensate, trying to act all cool, all 'pfft I don't like him'," she imitates you, and you scoff, retorting, "I don't sound like that."
"Yes, you do," Yelena nods, chuckling to herself.
~~~~~~~
"Promise that next time we meet, it won't be because you need stitches?" you ask her, as she gets onto her Harley.
"I don't make promises, but I'll try my best," she says wittily, giving you a salute before zooming away.
Here you are again, alone in the office with Matt. Karen and Foggy only left about ten minutes ago.
You've been extremely curious about Matt recently, his random injuries, his strange excuses for being late. His secretiveness about his life is just making you that bit much more intrigued.
It's not like you can act on that interest though, he is your boss. So it probably wouldn't be wise to explore that side of things with him.
But still, that doesn't stop you from thinking about it.
