A/N: hello my lovelies, it's been a while. but i'm baaaaaaack.

"Sure of what?" Matt questions, his mind currently racing as you walk over to him. However his frantic thoughts are silenced as your hand trails up along his arm.

As you rest your other hand on his chest, you feel how fast his heart is beating, and Matt can hear that yours is pounding too, differing from the unnaturally steady pace he's used to hearing.

"Where do they think we are right now, Foggy and Karen?" you ask, curious what excuse he came up with. You wouldn't be surprised if he didn't say anything, considering his frequent unexplained disappearances. "Don't be mad."

"That depends on what you say next," you say, furrowing your brows at him threateningly. "I said you were in the hospital having surgery for gallstones."

"You what? Why couldn't it be you with the gallstones?" You look at him in shock, as he attempts to hide the grin on his face, failing miserably. "What's so funny Murdock?"

"Nothing, nothing. I'm sorry," he replies, trying his best to sound sincere. "I gave Foggy your dog to look after, so it had to be believable. And he knows about what I do, so I didn't need an excuse," he murmurs, tracing his hand up along your arm and stopping at the side of your neck. Rolling your eyes, you take a deep breath and smile. "I guess it's kind of funny."

"I knew you'd come around," he says cockily, before the two of you fall into a silence. The casual conversation almost made you forget about how close the two of you are right now.

There's a tense stillness, both anticipating the other to make a move of some sort. Your hand still resting on his chest, you feel it heave as he inhales deeply.

"Do you-" his now low, husky voice trails off as you slowly move your hand from his chest, lower down his torso, causing him to lose his train of thought.

"I have a question," you utter softly, your breathy tone catching him off guard. Matt clears his throat, before you continue, "Just how Catholic are you?"

"What do you mean?" His head tilts slightly, as you pull his face down closer to yours. "Don't play dumb with me," you whisper, lips almost brushing off his. "You're sure about this?"

You're still not one hundred percent sure it's the best idea, but you're definitely sure you want to. In fact, you haven't been able to stop thinking about sleeping with him since you left him in your apartment before going to find Natasha.

The two of you are so close now that you can feel his breath as he exhales, still minty from him just having brushed his teeth. And while you aren't usually one for hookups in a cheap hotel room, your location is the least of your concerns right now.

His desperate expression as he awaits your response is one of the most arousing things you've ever laid your eyes on. And rather cruelly, you only want to prolong it. "You're killing me here," he suddenly says, your lip curling into a smirk, but the smug look on your face quickly disappears.

"Damn it," you mumble agitatedly, confusing Matt. What you had just thought of, is that you don't have a condom. "What is it?" he questions, wondering what caused your switch in demeanour.

"I, uh-" You're interrupted by your phone ringing, saving you from embarrassment. "I better get that." You head over to the nightstand to pick it up, and sit down on the bed.

"Where the hell are you?" Jess asks, sounding extremely urgent. Matt's brows scrunch slightly, trying to pinpoint something.

"Why, what's wrong?" you reply, Matt seeming to have a realisation as you hear clattering down the line. "I think I found something, so you need to get back here."

"She's at your place," Matt whispers to you. "What the fuck are you doing in my apartment?"

"You weren't answering your phone, I thought you went off the grid. Wait how did you know I'm-"

"I'll be back tomorrow, you can tell me what you've found then. Goodbye Jess," you say before hanging up, rubbing your temple on one side in annoyance. "Early morning then?" Matt asks, as you walk around to the other side of the bed.

"Yeah," you sigh, laying down on the mattress and setting an alarm. "But it was going to be one anyway, we need to get out of here soon, I don't particularly feel like getting kidnapped again."

You face towards him, getting under the covers, and internally scolding yourself for your lecherous gawking at his back as he walks into the bathroom. But that doesn't stop you from thinking about all the things you want to do to him.

"Something bothering you?" You're quickly snapped out of your thoughts as he returns, now changed into his underwear, sitting down next to you. "No, I was just- Nothing," you blurt, your lack of composure taking both you and him by surprise.

You don't usually get nervous, in any circumstance really. But when it comes to Matt, everything he does seems to put you on edge, and not necessarily in a bad way. More like when you're watching a horror movie, but only in the sense that there's no real danger to you, yet your stomach is still in knots, palms sweating and heart racing.

"We should probably get some rest," you say earnestly, as he sits in bed next to you. "Probably," he replies, the suggestiveness in his tone not going unnoticed by you.

Matt never knows what you want, even now you're still confusing him. One second you're kissing him, turning him on so much he can't even think straight. And the next, you're cold, distant. He realises the best way of finding out what you really want is just to ask you, "Hey y/n?"

No response. He realises your breathing and heart rate have started to change, and your eyes have closed, you've fallen asleep. "Goodnight then," he whispers, planting a kiss on the top of your head before laying down fully.

"Thanks Reina," you wave at your friend as you get on the plane with Matt. "Anytime," she shouts up to you, revving the engine and riding off on her moped.

"So you just happen to know people who can get you a private jet at the drop of a hat?" Matt says, almost in disbelief as you shut the door. "It's nothing fancy, but those are the perks of knowing a lot of deadly women all around the world."

You sit down in the pilot's seat, turning your head back to Matt, "I'd recommend strapping in, it's going to be a rough ride."

Matt smirks slightly, sitting in the co-pilots seat next to you as you prepare for takeoff. "Then by all means, take us home captain."
