A/N: Hello again everybody!! this is kind of a filler chapter, but hey, it's more Matt, so what more do you want?

You decide to show up a couple of hours early for work, in a poor attempt to make up for your absence. Then again, you did get kidnapped, so it's not your fault. Still, you hate being behind on work, so you should try to get some done.

You feel slightly nervous, you haven't talked to Matt since you got back yesterday, and since everything went down. You're in unknown territory, it's hard to know how to act around him, and working together is going to be a whole other story entirely.

The door is open, meaning either Foggy or Karen is probably already here. But it's way too early, even for either of them.

Now wary, you walk in slowly, naturally going into stealth mode as you scan the empty office. Except it isn't empty, Matt's there, leaning against your desk. "I must be hallucinating if you're here early," you say, confused, noticing he isn't wearing his jacket or his tie.

"Wait, have you been here all night?" you ask, now worried, knowing he needed to rest after the past couple of days. He ignores your question, something clearly on his mind. "I had to catch up on some work."

He sounds understandably tense, but it's obvious it isn't just about work.

Truthfully, he struggled to get any work done at all until early this morning. All through the night, he couldn't focus on anything.

Every simple task he attempted, his thoughts would drift back to you. The sound of your voice, the warmth in your laugh, the softness of your skin. Just imagining the scent of your hair drove him half-mad.

After a while, he finally was able to concentrate, but thoughts of you still lingered in the back of his mind.

You're not entirely unaware of the effect you have on him, but you certainly don't know the true extent of it. The only thing that rivals the strong grasp you seem to have on him is the one he has on you.

It wouldn't take a genius to observe that there's something off about him. He's a lot quieter than usual, often by now he would have made some offhanded remark about Foggy, Karen, one of your clients, or even you.

You make your way over, setting your bag down next to him on the desk. "I would've helped if you had just called-"

"No, you needed to rest," he says, almost sternly and you turn to him. "And you didn't?" you reply, your tone matching his. "Karen and Foggy will be here soon, as well as actual clients. Where's your tie?"

"I- uh it's in my office I think," he responds, almost frazzled, as you hand him the cup of coffee you were looking forward to.

"Drink this, liven up," you instruct him, a baffled expression on his face as you head into his office to find his tie. "I can get my own tie-"

"I'm surprised you're even standing up right now," you call out to him, searching his office and eventually finding the tie under his jacket.

As you turn to leave the office, you almost bump into him already standing at the door, his hands on his hips.

He takes a step forward, and you take an avoidant one backwards. After a few more steps, you bump into his desk, and he reaches around you to put down the cup of coffee.

You reach up to his neck, popping the collar of his shirt before draping the tie around his neck. "You know how to tie a tie?" he asks, his voice much quieter and less harsh than before.

"Come on Matthew, you know better than that," you say with a smirk when you suddenly feel his hands move from his hips to yours.

You continue, your subconscious causing you to mask any physical reaction. "I know more than two hundred ways of tying a knot, you think I don't know how to tie a tie?
