He cleared his throat his nerves getting to him. "So Angel how've you been?" He asked opening a Maintain drew drink. Her eyes caught his looking at his promenite blue veins, To the naked eye they looked rugged but to her they were soft she noticed the small things like the cut that was over his knuckle or the birth mark by this thumb even the small tattoo on the inside of his palm.
"Good. You?"
"Good, Good" His eyes crinkled at the edges and the corners of his lips turned upwards into a cheeky smile. There was something so captivating about it, it was charming.
He looked down then back up at her. "I'm about to leave you wanna come with- or?"She nodded. "Sure." He smiled to himself. "Let me lock up and we'll go."
She burned time by walking around the isles her eyes scanned over the many pastries and chips that aligned against the walls of the connivence store. There was candy, coffee, soda, Lottery tickets anything you could think of they had. She had never really explored the store she mostly hung at their house she hadn't taken notices on the smaller things.
Her fingers ran over the small bags of chips that sat on the rack she dragged her finger tips across the plastic closing her eyes then she stoped opening the ones her hand had landed on. She was about to turn around to do it again out of boredom but realized she hadn't eaten today and her hunger took over her thoughts. She walked over the short white fridge sliding herself onto it as Fezco ran around the store clicking off lights and shutting the register.
He stood by the door. "Your payin for those." He said as she took a bit out of the crisp Dorito "Your funny." She smiled sarcastically. She walked out past Fezco waiting for him to lock the door he crouched down sliding in the key waiting to hear the security beep before turning around. "Cmon."
His car was a oldie one of his grandmas, Marie was this super badass lady She saved Fezco when he was younger from abuse and gave Angelica a place to stay when she couldn't handle her family, she was a grandmother to a lot of people and it was heartbreaking to hear when her health started to decline.
She smiled as she opened the door handle sliding down into her seat. She noticed droplets of water starting to slowly land on the front windshield an when she blinked it was suddenly down pouring."Fuck it's raining like a lot." She observed.
He nodded clicking on the windshield wipers. "That's gonna be a bitch to run in." He murmured taking a glance at the cheesing girl. "Why you all giggly" he asked.
"I can't be happy?"
"no-no it's just you don't normally smile so much." He stated driving out of the parking lot looking between the road and her.
"I'm just happy." She shrugged. When her lips opened and her cheek dimples became visible, the sun rose for Fezco. He turned looking her in the eye. "Are you on drugs?" He questioned in a serous tone.
She scoffed playfully. "Actually no." Another smile broke through his brief frown. "I'm glad. For awhile- You know you scared me n shit. I just don't want what happened to Rue to happen to you. Ya know?"
The corners of her mouth slid upwards. "Thanks Fez. I never want to hurt you or Rue or Ash an make y'all worry- it's just-" She shrugged. "When Im high I forget all my issues and for a moment I forget who I am and that's not an excuse but-"
He looked at her his hands loosely on the bottom of the stirring wheel. "Nah i know. you don't gotta explain hurt to me Ang. I know." He said understanding. Her stomach filled with warmth she had never felt so content until she was with him.
Fezco swerved into the front of his small apartment, parking the car, She starred at the rain drops that pummeled on the windows leaving water stains. "It's really coming down out there." She sighed dreading to run through it. She glanced at him. "This is gonna suck." He sighed.
