"Sarah, are you sure you don't mind watching Sophie again tonight?" Lana asked her oldest daughter as she finished getting ready for the dinner she was going to tonight.

"Yes mom, I'll be fine. But is it okay if Jordan comes over while you're gone?" Sarah asked her mother, who looked at her.

"Only if he's gone before I get home." Lana said and Sarah rolled her eyes.

"Mom, how many times do I have to tell you that Jordan and I are just friends." Sarah said.

"And yet you clearly want to be more than that and so does he, so what's the problem?" Lana asked and Sarah sighed.

"Sarah, is this about what happened between your father and I?" Lana asked and Sarah sighed.

"Let's just say that while you and dad had your moments, you weren't exactly the best role models when it comes to that sort of thing." Sarah said and Lana sighed.

"Fair enough. But Sarah, Jordan is not your father. I mean, I'm pretty sure that his mother would skin him alive if he even thought about cheating on you and the son of Clark Kent could never do something like that." Lana said.

"Do you ever wish that you'd married Jordan's father instead of dad?" Sarah asked and Lana sighed, since she'd been thinking about that a lot lately.

"Sometimes. Believe me, but at the same time, dating Clark had its own complications that I'm not going into, but at the same time, I think that if he and I were meant to be together, we would be." Lana said.

"Still, I have to admit, all of dad's issues have made me seriously question the male gender." Sarah said and Lana chuckled.

"Understandable, but Sarah, you have to remember that Jordan is not his father. He's a good kid and it's clear that he's crazy about you." Lana said.

"I know, but I still can't help but feel like he's keeping something from me." Sarah said.

"Like father, like son I guess. When I was dating Clark, I admit, I had a feeling that there was something he wasn't telling me, but I never let that stop me. Sarah, whatever it is you think Jordan's keeping from you, I'm sure he has a reason and it's not like your father, since Lois would never tolerate Jordan doing anything like that. Besides, that's just not the kind of guy Jordan is. He's too much like his father." Lana said.

"I know, but what if I'm also a bit too much like mine. Especially since dad encourages me to put off dating every time I see him." Sarah said and Lana chuckled.

"That is just your dad being a dad, not wanting his daughter to start dating until after he's dead, but I will talk to him about that. And Sarah, you're not like your father or like me. But as you said, your dad and I weren't exactly the epitome of a healthy relationship, but that could be a good thing, since it showed you all the things not to do with Jordan. Just give it a chance. If you like him, then tell him and if he hurts you, well then, it'll be a raise between his mom and I to see which of us will kill him first on your behalf." Lana said and Sarah smiled.

"Thanks mom. I'll think about it." Sarah said.

"That's all I ask. Now I have to go, there's money on the counter for dinner and if Jordan comes by, make sure his parents know that I won't be home or I'll call your father and have him come chaperone." Lana said and Sarah rolled her eyes.

"Got it mom." Sarah said as her mom said goodbye to her little sister Sophie before heading out and as soon as she was gone, Sarah pulled out her phone and shot off a text to Jordan, asking if he could come over.

"Hey mom, can I go over to Sarah's house?" Jordan asked his mother a few minutes after he got her text.

"Will Lana be home and answer honestly?" Lois asked, raising an eyebrow.

"No, she won't. She's out at some dinner for her campaign, but Sarah's there watching Sophie, so it's not like we'll be completely unchaperoned." Jordan said and Lois smiled.

"Of course you can go Jordan, just be home before curfew and if you finally get together with Sarah, make sure that you both stay fully clothed because you are not ready for that step yet." Lois said.

"Mom, who do you think I am, Jonathan?" Jordan asked.

"Wait, what?" Lois asked.

"Bye." Jordan said as he realized what he'd said and rushed out before Lois could stop him.

"Smart boy. Time to go find out what he meant." Lois said as she headed up to Jonathan's room to find him playing video games.

"Hey mom, what's up?" Jonathan asked as he paused his game.

"Your brother said something very interesting to me. I joked about how if he and Sarah got together and they were both to stay fully clothed and he responded by basically saying that he wasn't you. Care to comment?" Lois asked and Jonathan groaned.

"Seriously Jordan, you are so dead." Jonathan said.

"Jon." Lois said, angrily.

"Mom, relax, it wasn't anything like that. Before we moved and you know, I lost everything, Eliza and I got a little carried away kissing, but that's all. I swear, we didn't do anything, it just got a little heated and then she pulled away and basically ghosted me for three days before she broke up with me, saying that she felt things were moving a little too fast and I never told you because I knew how you'd react." Jonathan said and now Lois felt guilty.

"I'm sorry Jon, but when I heard Jordan say that, my mind immediately went to a place that no parent wants it to go to and I freaked out." Lois said.

"It's fine, I would've reacted the same way if it was my kid, which I don't have yet." Jonathan assured her.

"Good. Because if I find out that you or your brother have any kids before you finish college, well, you'll be lucky to live another day. Now I'll let you get back to your game." Lois said as she left Jon alone.
