Recap

Last time, Natsu had to deliver some pretty heartbreaking news to Lucy.

Warrod had passed away...

(Moment of silence for our king Warrod)

Anyways, Natsu called Levy and Lucy's two favorite people spent the day comforting her and doing everything in their power to make her feel like she isn't alone throughout this hard period of grief.

Where this chapter picks up, there is a slight time skip.
It has been 2 weeks time since Warrod has passed, and is officially the day of his funeral.

The very next week will be the week that Natsu and Lucys project is due.

Time flies right?

Enough chitchat, time to get back to the story!

Lucy's POV

I stare at myself in the mirror, I tie my hair up in an elegant bun, put on the necklace Natsu had given me on Valentine's Day that he had previously received from Warrod.

It only feels natural to wear such a special piece of jewelry on a day like today.

Taking one last deep breath before I walk out of the bathroom to meet Natsu in the car outside.

"You ready?" Natsu patiently asks me. I can hear the concern in his voice.

"Ready." I force a smile hoping it would give his mind some ease. I know he doesn't think I'm weak or anything, but he has been looking at me like im such a fragile thing lately. I also know he can't help it... after all I would act the same way towards him.

"Levy and the others are leaving to meet us at the church in half an hour." Natsu informs me.

That's good. I need them there today.

The rest of the car ride is silent, but Natsu drives only with one hand while his other holds mine. He also turned the radio on quietly in the background so there isn't complete and utter silence.

"Thank you. For being here." I finally find the courage to mutter.

I direct my attention towards Natsu as soon as the words escape my slightly chapped lips. He smiles, ever so slightly, without any teeth. Just a warm-hearted grin which invades both my heart/chest area with a combination of butterflies and warmth.

This feeling only intensified when he slows the car down to a red light, as if the timing was perfect, and glances over to me, "It's the only place I ever want to be. Regardless the situation. I love you, Lucy. As long as I'm here, you'll never be alone."

"Kiss me." The words jump out of my mouth.

Natsu hesitates shortly glancing back at the red light to make sure he can kiss me.

"Kiss me before the light changes Natsu."

This time he doesn't hesitate, his palm swiftly moved to my cheek and his fingers lightly grip on the back of my neck pulling me into his passionate kiss.
