anyways, enjoy this chapter! thank you for reading <3

Azmina's POV:

Juno sat on the court alone.

When I first saw her run out, I reached for her arm but was too slow. I wouldn't have been able to stop her anyway, she was so scared. In fact, I've never seen her so upset. Like a lot of the spectators around me, I was expecting gunshots. But it was knives and now all I could hear were the shrieks of Juno, the whistles of other games and the occasional call for the ball.

And Charlie's breathing which was in my ear. I didn't notice that he was turned away until just then. I couldn't take my eyes off the bodies of the family who I was so close with. My brain was only just starting to come to terms with what might happen to Juno. An orphanage perhaps.

Or maybe, she won't get out at all.

My stomach clenches at that thought and I stand up slowly. My chest constricts as I hear Juno cry out again. I turn to see Sunny and Maeve shivering with fear and Phoebe was pushed against them as close as she could get.

I spin on my heels and look at the timetable. We have a game at 4pm this afternoon. That's still five hours away.

It's going to be a long day. I already knew it.

Nobody followed me out of the stadium. I just wanted to get my phone. I don't care that I might get caught texting. I know that there a flaws and danger in this plan. There is no wifi but I have 4G which means I'll be able to text.

I knew who I was going to message. My other friend Sarah. She's Juno's friend as well but I've known her longer. As I get into the room, I sit down on my mattress. My phone is also almost dead. It's on 7% and I didn't ask around for a charger. That was stupid.

I open it up and go straight onto Messages, keen to not waste any time. I get onto Sarah's contacts and text her a quick hello.

She reads the text but doesn't reply. My heart begins to race.

Sarah you gotta answer me, I'm in danger

It's read. No reply. My palms get sweaty.

Sarah please respond. My life depends on it

The grey bubbles pop up and my chest releases. Her response is short but heart-felt.

What's wrong?! You've been away for two days! I thought this tournament was only meant to go for one day!

I suddenly feel very sad. My family must be so worried, my friends as well. Even teachers. They all liked me. My phone battery is dying fast.

Look, I'm on 4% but you have to tell my family I'm okay. Call the police and tell them that we are in danger. I don't know the address to the stadium but if you get them to ask the school they will know.

She's typing.

Alright I will. What danger are you in? Is Juno okay? Is the team okay?

2%.

I need to go but please do what I say. I can't say what danger it'll take too long to type! Please just tell everyone I'm okay.

My forehead is sweaty and tears are in my eyes. I'm on 1%.

I already said I would. Please just tell me something!

I could. I can type fast. It's worth a go.

I'm being held captive. Everyone here is. We're all going to die if you don't help. Please just hur-

My screen goes black.

My phone runs dead.

And I'm left alone in the room, anxiety making my head spin.
