Just after Gilbert and Bash left Lelyah was helping her mother in the kitchen when her uncle entered the room.
"They are good people,ты должен жениться на одном из них[1]" your uncle says
'"What!" she blushed being taken back by his comment
"She's still my baby!" father said, after he almost choked with the water he was drinking.
"I'm joking!" He laughed it off, her uncle and her father used to talk about how one day, Lelyah would get married and leave the nest...it was not a pleasant conversation for her father to say the least.

A few more days passed and the day of the Christmas pantomime arrived. The Ivanov family was getting ready but they were deciding if they should wear their traditional clothing or not.
"You heard the boy, they were getting agitated to impress the foreigners in Avonlea. We should give them something to talk about" her uncle said with excitement.
"And it would be a good opportunity to wear you present," her aunt said "dress to impress"
"Moving here got us enough attention already, aunt Polina"
"It's a small town, people moving here could be the most interesting thing to happen" her uncle said.

"Your mom told me about this girl in your class that was rude" her aunt whisper to her ear, "it your time to shut that Ублюдок[2], you could use those presents I left in your room"
Lelyah could just imagine what it was, her aunt was very sophisticated and her uncle had a company that produced gold, it was no surprise since the Soviet Union was known as the third world gold producer.
They finally decided to wear more traditional clothing and something that Lelyah forgot was that their aunt and uncle always loved to be in the spotlight. They were modest (somehow), good people, but they would dress nicely and now that they are foreigners here they would definitely make sure to make it VERY clear.

They arrived at where the pantomime was going to take place. A few people that had just arrived or were at the front door stopped their conversation to look at them, since it's a small town everyone knew each other so seeing new faces was particularly strange.

"I'm going to look for my friends" Lelyah excused herself, she went backstage and she saw people going from one place to another, practicing lines, and getting ready, she went closer to where she saw Anne and when Diana noticed her she approached them.

"Lelyah, you look beautiful" Anne complimented her
"You could have taken my character, I love your dress" Diana said.
"Thank you both, I just came to wish you luck"
They said goodbye since they had to keep practicing before the show started. She noticed Gilbert and Bash on the other side moving some things around and checking the ropes that control the curtains.

Bash was the first to notice her and he taped Gilbert's arm to sign him where you were standing.
He looked up, he looked taken back and quickly composed himself; you greeted them both with a nod and they did the same and went back to where her parents were.

They were seated beside the Barry's, Mr. Barry attempted to make short conversation with my father about being business partners in the transportation industry. I never took much interest in that, I always expected for my brother to take over since he understood those topics, I was the type that if I am not interested I will not learn.

"кто он? почему он замолкает?[3]" My uncle asked, beside me

"богатая семья[4]" I answered simply

"но транспортный бизнес принадлежит твоей матери[5]" my aunt said this time
"да, но он слишком близок[6]" Me and my aunt looked at each other and just sighed in defeat.

"Men" we said in unison
