Gypsy Rivers

Babbling, cackling, along with the streams

I love you even though this feeling is not as it seems.

My heart flows with the waters, careless of all but the song.

All they want is to slither silently on and on.

Laughing, singing, dancing away

But really, for you I would stay.

Shouted goodbyes as I float down the pools

They said that chasing after a spirits' heart was only for fools.

But there you were, following along right behind.

I think, Oh wait! The river is done!! .. But never mind.

I want to be with you, truly I do,

But I have the soul of a Gypsy, it's true.

So I go on, babbling ahead, drowning in the vain.

Of maybe, hopefully, seeing you again.

And then I get caught up in the waters, taking me where I want to go

And for a few drifting moments I forget what I already know.

Love is hard when the spirits turn your soul free

I want you, but I also want to find me.

So I left, slipping right through your hands,

Onto those far off, distant, new, exciting lands.

They just weren't the same without you to show them to,

Life alone is nothing but an endless taboo.

I did not mean to say goodbye

But in the end you were there, waiting for me to run dry.

~ Be patient with me, I have the soul of a gypsy. I cannot help but want to be free, even if you can fulfill everything in my life. Wait for me until my river of adventure runs dry.~ Lyn
