In the kitchen we crawled around the counter island, and slipped into the separated dining room; just as the front door busted open. I clenched my teeth. We hid on the back wall, next to a collapsed door.

"Scour the premises! Leave nothing unchecked!" Commanded an unfamiliar voice from the living room. I frowned.

"After I failed in her eyes, didn't Irisquedor Genie do all the work herself now?" I murmured to Traple. She shrugged. "Maybe she isn't ruler anymore." I blinked. "What? How could she be retired? We've only been gone two years.. She should still be looking for us." Traple knelt down to the collapsed door, examining it. She stared at it for a second, then her eyes widened.

"Shit.." She whispered. "What?" I asked, looking over the corner to my right. "..You know how Lotiis's time works different than Earth?"

I nodded. "Because we often live outside of time..-Sainkra said she'd change it to two years like earth for us, then back to a normal rotation when we got back."

Traple bit her lip.

"What ?" I whispered, watching glowing eyes get closer.

"She didn't say two, now that I think about it.." Traple said.

I frowned, looking at the carpet at my ashy feet. "She didn't say she'd set it to two?" Traple shook her head. "No, I mean she didn't say she'd set it back in rotation as two.." She clenched her fist in a circular motion in the air at the wood. Purple magic sparked and silently popped a hole in the door. She opened her hand and it expanded.

"What did she say?" I asked. "Twelve.." Traple said. I whipped around. "TWELVE YEARS??" I whispered, my eyes wide. I breathed in angrily, and looked around. "When the hell did she say that?"

Traple moved her hand through the hole in the door. "She didn't specifically say.. Twelve, but we talked about it; when you were in the bathroom.." I glanced to the side as quick blush spread across my cheeks.

I frowned. "We gotta get outta here." I said. Traple looked at me like I was stupid.

"What does it look like I"m doing?" She asked. I bit my lip.

"Making a hole?" She raised a brow, her expression without emotion. "It was a rhetorical question."
