Self proclaimed monsters (Loki x reader)

9. Thor

It's a long night of tossing and turning, battling with nightmares and a piercing headache. The couch is comfortable for sitting, but not for sleeping.

You eventually shift to wolf to see if you can sleep better that way. It doesn't help. You eventually give up on sleeping and pace by the window in wolf form.

Memories you don't understand flash through your head and your head pounds harder and harder. you have a full blown migraine now and the memories just keep coming.

~memory~

Nat opens a door and steps aside for you to go in. Your mouth falls open when you see the room.

The room is huge with a ceiling to floor window that is the far wall. There is a queen sized bed on the left wall with end tables on each side and a fancy lamp on each.

On the right wall there are a couple dressers and a large wardrobe, along with a door that you can see leads into a connected bathroom.

There's a shaggy rug at the end of the bed and on the far side of the left wall there's a sort of control panel. You look back to Nat.

"F-for me?"

She slightly smiles.

"Yes, this is your room now "

"I-I couldn't- I don't deserve-"

She cuts you off.

"Yes you do"

She looks you in the eyes

"Look, I know what it's like to be abused, it's not your fault."

You look at her, shocked. She seems so tough, you couldn't imagine her being abused. She gives no acknowledgment to your reaction and continues.

"There should be clothes in the wardrobe that'll fit you. The panel on the wall controls the window, the air conditioning, and all the lighting in this room. go ahead and get settled in, dinner is in 2 hours."

She turns back to you for a moment before she walks away.

"Quick warning, if you turn out to be evil, I will not hesitate to kill you"

Ouch.

You can't really blame her though, she is an avenger and they deal with the worst of the worst. You only just met so it makes sense that she wouldn't trust you.

When she leaves you explore the room. You fiddle with the control panel, learning how it works. You go into the bathroom expecting it to be tiny and are surprised yet again.

There's a sink with fancy lights, a shower and a bathtub, of course a toilet, and a super soft rug on the floor in front of both the bath and the shower.

When you finish your exploration you shift forms and let your wolf take control, internally giggling as she runs around the room excitedly sniffing everything. She explores every inch of the room and then rolls around on the rug at the end of the bed.

You internally smile when she relaxes on the rug and sighs contentedly. You lay there for a little while before there's a knock on your door and it creaks open. Your wolf, still in control, jumps up, crouching in a defensive position and growling.

The person that walks in is a big burly man with long(ish) blond hair and blue eyes. His expression turns from confusion to full fledged awe as you take control and shift back to human form.

"The gift of wolf.."

"I am so sorry I-"

You struggle with your wolf as she attempts to take back control. You struggle with her a bit before you get her to chill out by shifting to hybrid form with your ears and tail out.

"No need to be sorry lady wolf, it is I who should apologize for startling you"

He bows his head for a moment before standing back up,

"My dearest apologies lady wolf, I am Thor, son of Odin"

Your wolf speaks before you can stop her.

"Asgard-"

You roll your eyes at her nonsense,

"Sorry I didn't mean to say that, my wolf is speaking nonsense"

You clap your hand over your mouth. You always try not to talk about your wolf with people because they just don't understand.

"Sorry- I- my name is (y/n), but you can call me (n/n)"

"Stark said there was a new midgardian girl staying here and I came to welcome you, but you are clearly no Midgardian"

You tilt your head to the side at him. What he's saying makes no sense to you.
