clear as glass

i wish i could tell her of her future

to reassure her of what lie in wait

the arms that were destined to hold her

the kisses that would be had

the safety she would feel in the dark

the joy she would feel in the light

the comfort she would feel

standing next to his side

and the lightbulbs that shone bright

and with him she found herself

and with him, everything made more sense

and with his hands, she built a new heart

one that was strong

one that could last

with your smile i found my happiness

with your hugs i found my rest

with your kiss i found surrender

and with your love i finally came home

my path and yours were woven long ago

we never stood a chance

at missing

and with your words i built new armour

and with your laugh i heard new songs

and with your thoughts, i saw new mountains

and with your help overcame them

and with my love you found a promise

and in my eyes you'll find forever
