Eustace's POV (I know, I know, I'm sorry😂)
Dear Diary,
There has been an extraordinary turn of events: I've been abducted by my cousins and their little tag-along and set adrift in uncharted waters in some ridiculous-looking boat. What's worse is I share quarters with an obnoxious mouse thing-and I thought bunking with my cousin was bad enough. So far, every person I've met in this strange place suffers from the most florid delusions: chasing green mists and looking for lost lords. I can only assume this is the result of a poor diet, or they're all just barking mad.
I look up at my surroundings from the only semi-private location on this hideous ship: hiding behind some barrels. Cousin Lucy is attempting to mend the ill-fitting, tacky vest she's been sporting for whatever reason. She acts like it makes her some sea captain or something.
Across the way Edmund is still working on that pathetic little sword, he got at that island. Yes, the island where he walked right into the most obvious trap.
Cousin Edmund is no exception, I continue in my diary. He spends every spare second rubbing that tin sword of his like it's some magic lantern. I'd say the poor fool needs some sort of hobby, but Y/n distracts him from reality enough.
I look over to where Y/n and Caspian stand by the ship's wheel, seemingly working out directions as if she knows anything about directions. Stupid girl can't even keep herself from getting kidnapped without dragging me into it.
Y/n is no better than Cousins Edmund and Lucy. She might even be worse. She's hasn't shut up since we arrived, and she's bought into this whole fairytale thing as much as my cousins have. Fitting for Edmund though; leave it to him to find a girl who's even more delusional than he, and even more of a smart-ass
I watch the rat creature talk to cousin Edmund as he wastes time picking at his little sword.
"Peeving marmot," I mutter under my breath, "he's even more diluted than my cousin."
A small seagull lands on the barrel in front of me, not an animal I've seen around here before. The lucky thing doesn't have to deal with all this nonsense as I do.
"In England, we have mouse traps for that sort of thing," I say to it. It pokes its head around, looking at me with one eye. "Speaking of food, you don't know where I could get any do you?"
The stupid bird looks at me with a blank expression.
"Why are you talking to that bird?" The bull creature asks from the lookout above me. I look back at the bird in confusion.
"I-I just naturally assumed he can..."
Great, now I look like the crazy one. Of course, it can't talk. The one time I buy into this nonsense I look the fool.
"He's talking to birds!" The bull laughs in the most awful tone I've ever heard and hits the guy next to him while they both look at me. I frown and glare at them awfully. As if they hadn't tried to talk to a bird before.
"Go away," I shoo the bird away so as not to look any dumber than I already do. I really just want to go home.
Your POV
"We are headed East, yes?" I ask Caspian.
"Right, and the Islands of Ramandu should be to the Northeast of us as of now," Caspian replies, gesturing off to the left.
"Right, but I simply find it hard to believe everything to the East of the Lone Islands is completely uncharted," I say, "No one has ever attempted to map out these waters?"
