Almost every day ended with Aurora and Max working. The board spelled "Brew grounds" with a coffee cup above the door frame of the place. It was a small shop but it was efficient. Most times the group decided to get coffee too. This was one of the days except...Crystal Cooper was with them.
Crystal and her brother, Sebastian had the same sapphire blue eyes and platinum hair which made them look like twins.

"The usual?" Alicia, a worker, asked the group as Rory and Max proceeded to change into uniforms.

"Yeah", Marcus smiled at Alicia, who didn't look too amused. She looked in Sebastian's direction before walking back to the counter.

"Savage", Felix muttered under his breath, trying hard not to laugh as Marcus scowled at him.
Sebastian and Crystal got away from the group for some 'family talk'.

Sebastian, who was leaning against the wall, hands in his pocket, scoured the environment. He wasn't looking for anything. He was just avoiding his sister, who was right in front of him.
Crystal rolled her eyes, "Mom needs you home this Halloween", she spoke. But in answer to that was only a "Mhm" from Sebastian.

"If it wasn't for my her, I wouldn't be talking to you. Now, stop ignoring me!" she exclaimed.

"Well, what do you want me to do Crysie!?" Sebastian snapped at her. Crystal shook her head in disappointed as Sebastian took a deep breath.

"You're with your friends, you're not stuck with me, you do anything you like..." Crystal started, "And yet you can't make time for us?"

Sebastian scoffed, "I would when you all would stop judging me around the dinner table." He walked away from her, towards his friends. Crystal furrowed her eyebrows as she muttered under her breath, "I don't."

During all this, Max and Aurora had already started working. Alicia and Max were preparing the orders while Aurora was handling the register, which was the most boring job ever. Even though they didn't have many customers during this shift, Rory tried to avoid the register at all costs.

"Hey", a man smiled at Aurora as he walked up to the counter. One word. That's all it took for Max to immediately turn his head around to look at the man.
"Is that an accent I hear?" Max thought to himself as he stared at the man. He was a slightly dark skinned guy. A tall one for that matter, at least taller than Max. He immediately looked away at the thought of looking like a creep.

Aurora smiled back and spoke, "Welcome to Brew Grounds. How may I serve you today?"

She or the guy weren't even bothering looking at Max in the background, who was trying to look past Aurora to see him properly. He was done with the order, so he placed the cups onto the tray, carefully picking the tray up.

"Can I have an iced vanilla latte?" and BAM! It took only one line from the accent guy for Max to jerk back in surprise, as he was picking the tray up. And there went the cold brew, flying freely in the air. I would've landed on the wall if Alicia hadn't stepped between the wall and the flying glass.

Next thing to be seen was Alicia, who was covered in the coffee, looking at her clothes in confusion, a loud gasp from one of the customers, everyone trying to get a look behind the counter while Rory and accent guy watched with their eyes wide open. And at last, Max clapping his hand onto his mouth.

Rory and Max both stared at each other in utter astonishment. Everyone was silent, not a word, even from Alicia who still seemed to be processing the whole thing.

Finally, the silence was broken by the accent guy muttering, "My wife and her flying saucers."

"OhmygodAliceI'msosorry!", Max exclaimed in Usain Bolt speed as he grabbed a few napkins and offered them to Alicia. The spectators eventually went back to doing their own thing but everyone at the counter was still recovering. What was more surprising was that their own friends laughed it off and didn't care about it at all.

Rory tried to pretend that didn't just happen. They were lucky the manager was a lazy old man, or they'd be long gone.

"Sorrrrryyyy for...tha..." Rory said, turning to the guy as she pointed back. She couldn't describe the incident and yet the guy nodded in agreement.

She started writing on the notepad, "One iced vanilla latte for?"

"Adam", the guy remarked.

Max, who was cleaning, looked right into the Adam's light brown eyes as he chuckled to himself. "Adam", he thought. Before taking a seat at a table, Adam gave a fleeting glance towards Max, smiling.

"What the hell was that!?" Aurora asked Max with confusion and anger.

"Oh, Rory", Max looked in Adam's direction before looking back at Rory who was staring at him, waiting for an answer. "Do you remember when Sebastian described how he felt when he saw Jaden?"

Aurora rolled her eyes as she folded her arms, "He talked about her 'mesmerizing eyes' for like a week."

"I think I felt that click."

"That's a terrible example. Their relationship lasted two weeks."

Max clicked his tongue, "The emotion, Rory. The emotion."

"Yeah, fine, I get it. What are you gonna do about it now?"

Max sighed.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Aurora asked.

"What if I mess up?" Max looked down at the floor.

Rory put her arm across his shoulder, "You're not gonna mess up, bubble."

"But you don't know that!" Max frowned, looking at Aurora.

"Because you, my dear friend, are the best friend-slash-fashion diva-slash-wingman and the most hardworking person I know."

"Mark is hardworking-"

Aurora squinted at Max.

"Still doesn't make sense how I'd be good at dating but I'll take it." Max said, giving a slight smile as Rory pulls him in a big hug with Max resting his face on her shoulder. Rory patted his back taking a deep breath.

"We've still got customers", Max remarked in a muffled voice.

"Yeah. We should get back to work." Aurora nodded as they both broke the hug.
