Ted was soon in a telephone booth, calling animal control to come take George away.

"There's no way he's actually going through with this" Brock said while the kids waited outside while George was playing around.

"He already is" David told him.

"I don't understand why Ted just doesn't take George in" Ann frowned, feeling bad for the monkey who was currently watching Ted.

"Maybe he's just having a hard time accepting that George is a part of his family now" Teeders explained.

"It's like the old saying," Kali recited. "People aren't the ones who choose their animals, it's the other way around"

"You mean like how Mum chose you for a friend?" Molly asked.

"Right" The adventure girl smiled. "And it looks to me that Ted has been chosen"

"Whether he likes it or not" Brock mentioned.

"They make a great pair" Teeders admitted. They just needed to make Ted see that somehow.

Ted then came out of the phone booth after animal control hung up on him.

"Prehaps we should call it a night" David suggested as the Akids all yawned.

"Maybe you're right. It's been a long day" Ted agreed with them before yawning himself.

"Where are we going to sleep?" Brock asked.

That's when Ann noticed George was now missing. "Hey, where did George go?"

The gang looked around for the monkey as he had just disappeared.

"George? George?... GEORGE!!!" Cynthia yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Over here!" Frizzle pointed out, being the first to spot the monkey.

Everyone looked over towards the park where they found George under a large tree, having made a nest out of leaves for them to sleep on.

"He can't be serious" Cynthia deadpanned.

"Hey, beats sleeping on a cold concrete bench" David told her.

"Think of it like a camp out" Frizzle said.

"Yeah!" The twins smiled. "It'll be fun!"

The kids, Molly and Frizzle all joined George under the tree while Ted stayed behind until it soon started raining lightly and had no other option.

"Oh, no. No, no, no. Don't look so satisfied with yourself" The man with the yellow hat glowered towards the monkey. "The whole reason we're sleeping out here is because of you"

"I could be in my nice warm bed right now, showered, teeth brushed" Ted started. "Instead of sleeping out in the cold with a monkey..."

Ted then stopped once George made him look up, showing him this absolutely stunning night sky. "Under the stars"

The Akids all smiled as they looked up at the stars together, trying to spot all the constellations.

"Beautiful, isnt it?" Kali turned to Ted.

Ted was in awe. "Those glow-in-the-dark star stickers have nothing on this"

"It's great!" Molly smiled. "I do stargazing all the time with my mum, dad, brother and sister back home"

George soon became curious of a little bright bug that he saw flying around him.

"Oh, that's a firefly" Teeders told him.

"George, can you say 'firefly?'" Molly tried getting the monkey to talk again.

"You got it, kidda. Say firefly!" Frizzle encouraged him.

Cynthia sighed to the hens. "Give it a rest you two. I don't think he's ever gonna talk"

Soon more fireflies showed up, flying around the gang with their bright little bulbs.

"There are so many of them" Ann smiled.

George gathered up all the fireflies, catching them in his hands.

"Ooh. Good grab" Brock told him.

"They're bright, huh?" David said while George looked at the bright insects in his palms.

"Did you know that fireflies glow to remind us that they tast bitter?" Ted explained to George. "It's a defense mechamism"

George then did something that surprised everyone... He put the fireflies in his mouth! The fireflies flew around in his mouth before he spit them out with his tounge now glowing.

"Oh, George, you silly monkey!" The Akids, Molly and Frizzle couldn't help but laugh.

Even Ted laughed, telling the ever so curious young monkey. "See? I told you"

Kali smiled at George, growing very fond of him as he reminded her a lot of herself when she was much younger. The Akids were starting to think he was a very good role model, teaching children what not to do.

George grabbed some more fireflies and offered them to Ted.

"Oh, no. No, no, no. No, thanks. I'm good" Ted declined, knowing what the monkey was trying to do. "There is no way I'm going to eat that bug. So quit try..."

But George shoved the fireflies in Ted's mouth before he spit them out.

"Oh, wow! Yep. That tastes bad!" Ted gagged. "Definitely bitter!"

George started giggling as he pointed to Ted's tounge as he saw it was now glowing too, causing everyone to laugh.

"You two look so ridculous!" Cynthia laughed at George and Ted, but not in a mean way.

"My Uncle Nobby ate a firefly by accident once. His mouth glowed for a whole week" Molly mentioned in between laughs.

Ted then had a joke for the gang. "Okay. Listen to this. I've got a good one for you all. What's the difference between Neanderthal man and Cro-Magnon man?... Linguistic competence and polychromatic cave paintings!"

Kali leaned over to her friends, whispering. "Pretend to be asleep"

The rest of the Akids all nodded in agreement. They liked Ted, but his jokes were honestly terrible.

Ted started laughing. "Get it? Uh, hello?" He looked down seeing George, Molly, Frizzle and the Akids had all fallen asleep. At least one of them anyway.

"Y-You're missing the punch line" Ted told them. "You see, it's the difference between the two... It's always a winner..."

The man with the yellow hat sighed, soon lying down. "I need some fresh museum-related material. People depend on me for those jokes"

"Sure they do" Brock whispered before the gang all dozed off to sleep for the night.
