Harry followed McGonagall silently, not daring to utter a single thing and worsen his chances. His mind kept flashing many possibilities, expulsion, ripping of magic, breaking of wand, banishment.

McGonagall walked him to the third floor and in front of defence against the dark arts classroom.

"Wait here" She said before marching inside. Seconds later, she returned with a boy years older than him, maybe a fifth or sixth year. "Mr Potter, meet Oliver Wood. Wood, I've found you a seeker" She said, looking pleased with herself.

Harry looked at them dumbstruck, while Oliver Wood looked approvingly at him then confusion dawned over his face, "but professor isn't he a first year".

"Yes, he is. But trust me on this, Wood. Take for a trial on, say, Saturday" She proposed. "You wouldn't believe, the way he caught that glass orb and drove away from the wall without even a scratch. I doubt there's anyone else compatible enough."

Harry had remained extremely silent watching the two converse. Wood then turned to him, "have you seen any quidditch match, Harry" He asked Harry.

"Umm… Not until now. But I've heard my dad talk about them" Harry replied, thanks to his dad he what quidditch was at least.

"That's alright. Meet me in the common room Saturday morning after breakfast" Oliver said to him. After receiving a nod from Harry, he walked back inside the defence classroom.

Professor McGonagall waved her wand and conjured a parchment from thin air and handed it to him. Harry looked at her expectedly as he took the parchment.

"You should write to your father. He'd be thrilled" She said with the subtlest of smile as she turned her back on him and walked away. Her green robes gliding behind her.

Harry, taking the cue, walked back to the common room, hoping the rest of the flying class would be there already. He met peeves on the way, but he was too busy throwing chalks on the couples walking by to notice Harry. So, he slipped past and made his way to the Gryffindor common room. He had some news to tell Neville and Ron.

(Later next day)

Lily was stirring the batch of calming drought potion in the potion's lab of Potter mansion. She had been asked by healer McCarthy last time she visited Londbottoms. She had practised the charm on them, but she just couldn't get past the void in their mind. Not without help from a Leglimence.

She turned off the burner as she cleaned her hands with the cloth. "Minnie" She called.

The female elf appeared in the lab behind her. "Yes, mistress Potter".

"Can you please get the vials from the basement and fill up this batch" She requested her.

"No need to say please, ma'am. I'll do it happily" Minnie said as she bowed her head subtly.

"You're an angel Minnie, thank you" Lily said as the elf disappeared. Lily waved her wand and replaced all the equipments in their right places. She could've done the same with filling the vials, but with magic also comes a disadvantage of accuracy sometimes. Last time she tried it, at least forty percent of the potion spilled on the floor while pouring. Elfish magic was better in this regard.

She walked out of the lab towards the sitting room, where she found a beautiful snowy owl sitting on an owl perch near the window. She ran the rest of the path and skidded to a halt near the perch.
