Hello my friends! AHHHHHH!
So this story just hit 5,000 reads (in a week!) and I'm so excited and grateful to everyone who's taken the time to read it so far and leave kind and hilarious comments. I appreciate all of it.
In celebration of hitting 5k, I've decided to share some fun facts with you guys and so, here are:
FUN FACTS ABOUT SHE'S THE WILD WEST
- I started writing STWW on December 24th, (the day before Christmas). I took a three week vacation from work for fun and, a week into it, I randomly decided to challenge myself to write a novel in three weeks!
- The first third of STWW (100 pages) were written during the last two weeks of my vacation from work.
- Adam Harrison's name was randomly made up by my mom! She gave me a few names to choose from and Adam Harrison was the one I liked most.
- Other than the 3 week time limit, the challenges I gave myself for STWW were to take a cliche story and flip the gender roles. I also wanted to include a Golden Retriever x Cynical character dynamic. I ALSO wanted to challenge myself to write in a guys perspective. Those were the only things I decided on before I started writing.
- Whether or not the "Mommy" thing got included in the story was decided by a randomized decision maker app on my phone. It spun a wheel with the options "yes" and "no" and it landed on "yes" thus resulting in "P-please Mommy, I need it." Not the first time I've decided something that way either lmao.
- The last 42 pages of the novel (other than chapter 26.5 which was added later) were written in a 24hr long stretch in between two 8hr shifts I had at work. I literally DID NOT SLEEP between shifts so I could ensure I met the 3 week deadline.
- Samantha's roommate's name "Bobai" (who gets mentioned once lol) was selected by my friend.
- Clara was the first character from any of my works in my entire life (of which there are many) that I ever considered writing a spin-off for. Emphasis on CONSIDERED lol. I just really love her character!
- I came up with the name Veea. I've never seen it or heard it anywhere else . I even googled it before I started writing and I didn't find anything. Kinda random!
- STWW is the first novel I've ever completed.
- STWW was written specifically to end up on Wattpad. The casual, informal, fast paced style of writing was literally inspired by the style of writing I grew up reading on Wattpad. I intentionally gave it a "Wattpaddy" feel. It's nothing like the style of writing I use for my real novels but it was fun to explore for this 3 week project! :)
- I'm NOT into all the same things (kinks) as my characters lmaoo. They have minds, personalities and interests of their own lol.
- Chapter Twenty Two (the one where Mori spills coffee on her skirt in the car) was the HARDEST chapter in the whole novel for me to write. I felt uncomfortable the whole time I was writing it lmaoo. I think it's because I'm a straight girl and I was writing (in first person) about doing sexual things to a girl lol.
- I was avoiding using words to describe lady parts for the whole novel and I pulled it off until Chapter Twenty Six. I'm just an awkward goober lol.
- Parts of this novel were written while I was on my breaks at work, in bed, in the dining room, on the toilet, on a plane, in an airport, in a car, and in the living room.
- The reason Adam hates Brandt is because Brandt took advantage of Mori's sad, vulnerable and drunken state and slept with her after she got cheated on by Calvin. It was a slimy thing to do and Adam hated Brandt the moment he found out about it.
- You guys I'm a HUGE virgin. LMAOOOOOOOOOOO! I've never done anything, like, ever. Never even kissed a guy or held hands. Hopefully that wasn't obvious while you were reading the story :D
Okay, I think that's all I have to share for now. If I think of anything else, I might come back and add it to the list. Or I might not. Who knows? Not me. I'm tired. I have work in like, 6 hours and I haven't slept yet sooooooo byeeeeeee.
Love you guys!
Okay bye!
Love you, bye!
BYEEEEEEEEEEE!
