"What's your favourite colour?"

I sighed and slowly put down my drink.  I can't believe they literally asked me that, possibly the least interesting question in the history of first date questions.

"Um, Sangria red."  It's not my absolute favourite, I don't even think I have an actual favourite, but it will do.

"What's that?"  He has such an annoying look on his face.  Like, is it not self-explanatory?

"It's like," I waved my hands around trying to find a dumbed-down answer, "like burgundy."

"What's that?"  Whats burgundy?

I stared at him incredulously.  His average-looking face must be disguising a below-average brain.  No thanks.

"Whats burgundy?"  I asked, giving him one last shot, perhaps he didn't hear me.

"Yeah."

I sighed and look down at my drink, pondering how I am going to get out of this date.

"Dark red."

"Oh."

"Yeah."  I pushed my lips into a line and prayed that the waiter comes to take our order soon. I've tried to ignore all of his red flags so far, like just honking the horn outside my house instead of coming to the door.  My parents didn't like that one.  I even turned a blind eye when he said he was taking me to the red lobster, even though I explicitly said I was allergic to all types of fish.  He had replied with 'i'm sure you can find something' Gross.

"Hello!  Welcome to Red Lobster! What can I get for you?" I sighed in relief as a blonde waitress greets us.

My date, Brady, looked her up and down with a slight smirk.

"Hey there, we'll both have the Lobster and a coke."

I tried to but in and correct him, appalled that he even ordered for me, and even more disgusted that he ordered fish since I've told him twice I am allergic, but the waitress didn't spare me a glance as she wrote down the order and walked away.

"Um, I'm allergic to fish," I spoke up to him with a slight edge in my voice.

"Oh, right.  Just push it to the side and eat the salad with it then."

I, once again, stared at him with an incredulous look on my face.

"I'm...like really allergic.  I don't think I should do that."

"Seriously?  Why are you being so difficult?  Who is even allergic to fish?  That's so lame."

My eyebrows shot up in surprise.  Are you kidding me?

"You know what?  I um forgot to ah walk my...cat.  So I'm going to go." I stuttered as I gathered my things.

"You're kidding, right?  I drove you here."

"I can walk."  I stood up and shrugged my jacket on.

"We're in Port Angeles, you live in Forks.  That's an hour's drive away."

"I like walking."

"Whatever, just give me the money for the food."

I stopped what I was doing and stared at him.

"You're joking."

"No."

Oh my fuck.  I can't believe he actually exists.  He's like a movie frat boy come to life.

I just slightly rolled my eyes and quickly walked out the door, frowning at the absolute torrential downpour outside.

I held my bag over my head as I ran to the gas station across the street.  Flinging open the door quickly and sent an apologetic smile to the stunned clerk.  I pulled out my phone and quickly dialled my best friend's number.
