"How was your date with Brady?"  Jessica plopped down beside me, very obviously ready to hear the tea.

"Oh um, honestly?  Terrible. He ignored that I was allergic to fish and flirted with the waitress. So I uh...left."

Her mouth dropped in shock, "What a fucking douche!  He seemed so nice."  She frowned and pouted a bit.

Erik dropped in on the other side of Jessica, "Was he so nice Jessica or so hot?" He questioned, taking a bite of greasy pizza.

She frowned at him, "Shut up Erik I'm not that shallow."

Mike sat down on the other side of me and throws an arm around me.  I stiffened but tried not to make it too obvious that he is making me incredibly uncomfortable.

"Yeah right boobs for brains.  How was your date Adair?"

"Um-" I started, but Jessica cut me off.

"Terrible. He's a total douche.  You guys would get along though wouldn't you?" Jessica playfully shot towards Mike.

"Mike, would you take your arm off (name)?  No wonder you're single, you obviously can't tell when you're making a girl uncomfortable."  Angela chimes in as she sits down beside Erik, placing her tray on the table.

I widened my eyes and looked up from my food, Mike sent me an apologetic glance as he scoots away.

"It's okay Adair I'm sure the next guy I set you up with will be sooooo much better.  Maybe I'll steer away from jocks, how about a guy from the track team?" Jessica looked at me, trying to think of potential candidates.

"Jessica, track team guys are jocks too."  Angela pointed out.

"Uh yeah, no.  They look like they couldn't even survive the weight of me sitting on their-"

"Okay okay!  I'm actually alright Jess, I've had enough first dates for a while." I cut her off before she could finish.

"You have had one." Erik pointed out.

I sighed, "Exactly.  Enough for me."

I could tell Jessica was about to say something but the bell cut her off.

"Oh anyways gotta head to class!"

"We are not done this conversation,"  Jessica stated as I quickly packed up my things.

"Yes, we are!"  I called behind me as I speed walk out the door and to my history class.

"Have a great summer everyone!  Please try and read at least a little.  Even a magazine, just please."  My English teacher, Ms. Smith calls to us as we pack up our bags at the last class of the day.

"Oh! Adair, could I have a quick word with you?" She called to me.  I looked at her in surprise before nodding and stuttering out a quick 'sure'.

"Don't worry!  You're not in trouble, actually, I have some news for you.  The school in Seattle you applied for through the English program sent you a letter."  She handed me a white letter addressed to me.

I gasped in shock and perked up in excitement, gingerly taking the letter from her.  After taking a deep breath I opened the letter.  I had applied a while ago to spend my junior and senior years in a prestigious boarding school, Conway Academy, located in Seattle.  It would look great on my transcripts and would certainly be more of a challenge than here.

I quickly opened the letter, scanning the first few lines.

"Hello, Ms. Callipsta we are writing to inform you that you have been accept-" My eyes widened as I looked up from the letter to my teacher, "I got in!"
