Billy stared at me in shock.  I watched his brown eyes connect all of the dots together as he discovered the truth.  I clutched my arm, rubbing it up and down with my shoulders hunched over, anxiety taking over my face as I watch him process the information I had just given him.

"No, no, no.  Your mom would kill me! She still might." He groaned rubbing his hands down his face, trying to soothe his panic.

He took a deep breath, closing his eyes, trying again to calm himself.  I didn't blame him for being a little freaked.  He just found out his biological daughter could shift into a giant wolf.  Though, he seemed more surprised that it was me, and not surprised at the idea itself.

He opened his eyes, looking towards me and nodding towards the living room.  He wheeled down the hallway, and I followed anxiously.

Once we were in the living room, he nodded towards the couch, beckoning for me to sit.  I sat down on the worn couch, back straight as I studied him, trying and failing to gauge his next move.

He stopped in front of me, sighing and taking a deep breath, "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, finally meeting my eyes.

I bit my cheek and looked away, not able to hold eye contact with him, "I mean," I chuckled slightly, "I didn't exactly think that anyone would believe me that I shifted into a giant dog."

He chuckled slightly, nodding, "When you put it that way, I get it."

We chuckled slightly, the laughter fading as we once again sat in silence.

"When?" He asked, looking back at me.

I sighed, relaxing slightly into the couch, "Um, right after I found out about you being my dad, when I disappeared for the night."

He cringed slightly, sighing and adjusting his hat, "I should have seen it, I should have known, I-"

"It's not your fault Billy," I cut him off, shaking my head, "You were a little preoccupied."

He sat back, nodding reluctantly, "I just don't get why the pack didn't tell me.  Were they surprised?"

I crinkled my nose.  What was he talking about?  What pack?  Did this have to do with the other wolf I saw in the forest?

"What pack?" I questioned, tilting my head slightly to the side.

His dark eyes widened, surprise flooding his face, "You don't know about the pack?  They didn't help you?"

I shook my head, confused as ever, "What pack?  I did everything by myself."

His face dropped in panic, "By yourself?  You went through it all by yourself?"

I rolled my eyes, "I mean yeah.  Who could have helped me?  Other than the one big wolf I saw in the forest that might be someone like me, i'm pretty sure i'm the only person that can change into a wolf at will."

He ran his hands down his face, shaking his head while his eyes held a new sadness, "I'm sorry you had to do this by yourself.  I don't understand why-it's not meant to happen that way."

I huffed, "What other way could it have happened Billy?"

He stayed quiet, seemingly contemplating his next words carefully, "You're not alone."

It was my turn to widen my big eyes in shock.

What?

This whole time I could have had help?  Someone to talk to about magically breaking all of my bones randomly in the woods?  Someone who could have maybe helped me get a hold of my senses and anger better, who could have told me about vampires for fucks sake!
