I sank in my seat and crossed my arms, not taking my seatbelt off as the car stopped.
I saw Jacob and Billy get out of Billy's truck and start greeting people.
"It'll be fine Addy." Quill smiled as he poked his head between the two front seats and looked down at me.
My frown deepened, "It'll be terrible. The last time I saw him did not go...well."
The two winced as if they knew all about it.
"Adair," Embry pulled me up from my slouched position, "You are forgetting who you are. You are a bad bitch now, start acting like it."
Quill looked at him weirdly but nodded in agreement still.
I took in a deep breath but still nodded, straightening up even more and popping on my black sunglasses.
I sighed and put my hand on the door handle, "let's just get this over with."
They both fist-bumped and let out a little yelp of victory before jumping out the doors.
I walked out of mine and shut it, pondering all the possibilities of how our reunion might go. Would he be happy to see me? I inwardly scoffed at that, not likely. He would probably completely ignore me. Either way, I was going to avoid him at all costs.
I walked closer to the fire, just slightly behind Embry and Quill. We all walked up to Jake, me finally gaining a little confidence and coming out from the cover of the two buff boys.
Jake put a hand on my shoulder, "Ready to go see some people?"
I nodded and he lightly pulled me towards where Billy is. With him stood a woman with three scars down her face in a very large man's arms. I assumed that they were Sam Uley and Emily Young. I also saw a beautiful middle-aged woman who looked to be setting up all of the food while she was talking. I recognized her as Sue Clearwater.
"Adair! Oh my goodness! You're back!" Sue gasped and enveloped me in to a hug.
I hugged her back tightly, immediately feeling warm from her motherly embrace.
I pulled back and smiled at her, "Hi Sue."
"Adair, it's great to see you." Emily then walked up to me and pulled me into a hug.
My eyebrows shot up as I glanced between her left hand and her.
"Got some new bling?" I questioned. She blushed and looked towards Sam, a loving look on her face.
"A lot has changed since you left." Sam smiled at me and gave me a short hug.
I looked around at all the boys who looked to all be ripped and over six feet tall, even Seth.
"I can definitely see that."
They all chuckled, albeit seemingly a bit nervously.
I small talked with them all, about my studies in Seattle, their wedding, and all our plans for the rest of summer.
I felt an arm get thrown around my shoulder, "Sup Addy."
I laughed as Jacob came to my other side and plucked Embry's arm off my shoulder, glaring at him. I rolled my eyes.
"Come on, we've got some more people to see." Jacob nudged my shoulder. I sighed and waved goodbye to Sue and everyone, promising to talk to them later.
"Relax Addy," Embry passed me an obviously alcoholic drink, "he's not even here yet."
I relaxed slightly at the news, smiling as we walked up to the fire.
