Salem Stackhouse made her way to the kitchen wearing a red My Chemical Romance tank top and a black skirt with a skeleton in a band uniform marching along with black knee high combat boots and a leather bicker's jacket in her hand excited to meet up with her two mates at Fangtasia. It was only a few days after her sixteenth birthday that Salem was dragged by her older sister, Sookie, and her vampire boyfriend, Bill, to Fangtasia to help a vampire named Eric Northman find out who was stealing money from him. When Eric and Salem's eyes met for the first time he felt his heart beat twice in his thousand years letting him know that he had just found his mate.

Sookie was furious that her little sister was mated to Eric Northman, a thousand year old viking vampire but just like she was mated to Bill there was nothing really she could do. After finding out that Longshadow was the culprit and when he went to attack Sookie, Eric pulled Salem out of the way protecting his mate, while Bill killed Longshadow. This act however caused Bill to be taken to the tribunal for trial for killing another vampire. When Bill came to Merlotte's to talk to Sookie about being away for a while Eric took the moment to talk to the sixteen year old telepath.

As Sookie took orders Salem sat at the bar talking to Tara and having a Dr. Pepper when Bill, Eric, Pam, and a vampire that the sister's didn't know walked into Merlotte's.
