It was the next morning and Salem woke up in her bed, wrapped in Godric's arms. She remembers the night before when they shared her first kiss. Salem originally wanted to wait until she was eighteen before sharing her first kiss with one of her mates but after the last few hectic days for the young telepathy, she felt it was the right time. Cuddling closer to Godric's side, Salem placed her head on his chest feeling safe in his arms. It wasn't much longer before Godric woke up from his slumber.
"God morgon, älskling (good morning, love)," Godric said as he looked down at his mate.
"Morgan snygg (morning handsome)," Salem replied in Swedish before she leaned up and kissed Godric on the lips.
Godric wrapped his arms around his mate's waist, pulling her on top of him as he deepened the kiss. Salem had to pull away to catch her breath, and when she looked down into Godric's face to see him looking up at her with nothing but love in his eyes. Godric placed his hand on her cheek to see Salem lean into her mate's touch.
"I love you Godric," Salem said in a whisper. "And it's not because of our mate bond. I love the vampire you are."
"I love you too Salem. You make me want to be a better vampire and mate for you," Godric said, as he kissed her again. "I will never hurt you, Salem. And I know you are hurt and angry with Eric for what he had done, but please älskling (love) don't end the mate bond with him."
Salem looked away from Godric still upset with Eric. Slowly getting off of Godric, Salem got out of bed before making her way to her bathroom to take a shower before they left for the airport to go to Washington. Godric sighed as he watched his mate disappear into the bathroom, he knew that she was still hurting from what Eric had done. After her shower, Salem exited the bathroom wearing a white graphic shirt, black skinny jeans, her hair in a half ponytail, and light makeup, before going into her closet to grab her heels and leather jacket for when they land in Washington. Godric was dressed and smiled when he saw his mate.

"You look beautiful Em," Godric said as he approached his mate and placed his hand on her cheek.
"Thank you Godric," Salem said as she leaned into her mate's touch.
