Arang : 3 and half years old

Just because Arang loved his aunts didn't mean he enjoyed having them over. They were all too girly for his liking. They were had daughters and sons, but after all, they were inherently girly themselves

The three women were nothing like Arang's mother, and very often, the young boy wondered how they were even related

Jennie was so far from being like her friends that it was almost impossible. So, as the three of them had come bustling through the front door, Arang had taken himself straight up to his room in order to avoid the hugs, kissing, and cooing

The boy wasn't in the mood for such nonsense. He was a little bit older now, after all. Arang's concept of time wasnt the greatest. Either way, as soon as he heard the high pitched and squeaky voices of his aunts turned to quite as more like a murmured, the child considered it safe enough to return downstairs without being attacked

So, Arang gathered his book of drawing, a notebook, a pencil, and brought all of it downstairs. His favorite place to work on these types of things was the kitchen table. It reminded Arang of some food, which he loved just as much as drawing

It was even better to work in the kitchen when his mother was actually cooking something, because then Arang could smell the food and just imagine eating it. She hadn't cooked much lately, however, on the count of her 'swollen feet' and 'various other issues that are driving me insane' That's what his father had said, anyway

The activity that Arang was currently immersing himself in drawing of some cartoon characters

"Jennie, you look like you're about to pop!"

Arang's eyes widened and he dropped his pencil on the table. It made a small noise : quiet enough where his mother or aunts certainly wouldn't be able to hear it. Sliding off of his chair, he ran over to the doorway that separated the living room from the kitchen and peered through it, his little fingers gripping the white molded frame

He saw his mother, sitting on the couch and halfway slumped down. She looked tired, and at the moment, a little annoyed. Her navy blue tank top, was completely stretched across her heavy belly

Her three friends were all gathered in front of her, hands all over her stomach as they cooed over it

"Don't remind me" Jennie muttered

"Why do you have to be reminded?" Jisoo giggled "Your belly is huge!"

Jennie gave her an incredulous stare before asking "You are a real foolish, aren't you?"

Arang pressed his back against the kitchen wall and stared ahead of himself nervously. His mother was going to pop? Is that how the baby got out? Her tummy was going to burst like a bubble?!

Needless to say, Arang was scared

He couldn't imagine that it would be fun for his mother. Besides, he knew that when bubbles burst, that pretty much meant they had died. Was that going to happen to her?

The boy might have been excited for his baby sister and brother to be born, but he definitely wasn't about to let them hurt his mom

Running upstairs, Arang found his way into the bathroom and tore open one of the drawers, where he knew his mother kept all of the fancy things she would occasionally put in Aera's hair

Pushing through the sea of hair bands and hair ties, Arang eventually came across what he was looking for: the tub full of hair ribbons. They were long and untied, so Jennie could fasten them into bows around Aera's ponytails. There were all different colors and prints, but Arang didn't care about what the ribbon looked like. Mainly, he was searching for the longest ribbon in the container

He found it in what must have been one of Aera's newer ribbons, since it seemed to be uncut and at least four feet long. It was solid, bright red in color, which actually brought a smile to Arang's face. Red was his favorite color, after all. But now its not the time to be smiling about such silly things

No. He had to save his mother from popping, and fast! So, with the ribbon in his small hands, Arang ran out of the bathroom and went down the stairs, back into the kitchen and then straight through to the living room

He knew now he'd have to face his mom's freinds, but that was a small price to pay when it came to helping his mother. They were still gathered around their beloved friend, but as soon as they heard Arang's footsteps, the three women whipped around and grinned adoringly at their nephew

Arang managed to return a small smile in response, but still had enough concentration to push past his aunts in order to jump up on the couch, next to his mother

"Arang....." Jennie blinked, confused as to why her son seemed so panic "What's the matter, sweetie? Do you want to stay in here with me and your aunts?"

"No, Mommy. I have to save you!" Aiden shouted

"Save me?" Jennie raised an eyebrow

"Yeah!" Arang took the ribbon and wrapped it around Jennie's watermelon like stomach until he could pull the ends of the ribbon in front of her and cross them, attempting to tie the ribbon into a bow. He was stumble over his own little fingers, however

Arang had never tied a bow before, and he'd never even watched his mother tying them into his sister's hair. Now he wished he had

Jennie, on the other hand, was just completely bewildered. She had absolutely no idea why Arang was tying a ribbon around her stomach. She looked up at her friends, as if they would have the answer, but if nothing less, they looked even more confused than Jennie

"Baby, what are you doing?" Jennie asked softly

"I'm keeping the babies inside!" Arang replied

"How is this supposed to keep the babies in my belly?" Jennie touched her stomach

"You won't pop!" Arang groaned. He thought this was extremely obvious

"Pop?" Jennie said confusedly

"I heard Aunt Jisoo say you were gonna pop" Arang frowned "I don't want you to get hurt, Mommy"

Jennie and Jisoo exchanged looks before the both of them began to giggle

Arang, however, didn't find it to be very funny "Mommy, Aunt Jisoo, stop!" Arang cried "It's not funny!" His eyes started to fill with tears, and Jennie noticed right away. Arang rarely ever cried, so she was anxious to whenever he did

"Oh, baby, we're not laughing at you!" Jennie smiled. Patting her belly, she cooed to her son "Lie down here, sweetie"

Arang whimpered but still settled down on his mother's stomach. He liked to rest there and feel his baby sister and brother moving around. Sometimes, he would talk to them, and tell them stories. Right now, they wasnt moving at all, and for once. Arang was grateful. He didn't want the babies listening to this.....to whatever his mother was about to say to him

"You're very cute" Jennie informed her son, playing with his hair

"Why'd you laugh?" Arang muttered

"Arang, we weren't laughing at you!" Jisoo reassured her nephew, rubbing his back "I promise"

"We were laughing because you're the most adorable little boy in the whole entire world" Jennie whispered with a smile "I'm not actually going to pop, you know"

"You're not?" Arang glanced up at his mother with big brown eyes

"Of course not" Jennie giggled once again "That's just an expression, baby"

"Oh" Arang breathed, lowering his eyes

"Is that why you tied the ribbon around your Mommy's tummy?" Lisa asked

"Yeah" Arang nodded slowly "I thought if I put the ribbon around her tummy, then she wouldn't pop. I got scared. I thought Mommy was gonna get hurt"

"So you were trying to protect me" Jennie said sweetly

"Yeah" Arang muttered again, snuggling his cheek against his mother's stomach as he closed his eyes

"Well, that was very sweet of you" Jennie informed the boy "I'm glad you're so protective of me!"

"Mommy?" Arang's soft voice squeaked

"What is it, baby?"

"If your belly doesn't pop.....how does the babies get out?" Jennie glanced up at Jisoo, who was looking rather nervous, with a little smirk and a devious glint in her eyes

"You'd better start coming up with another expression, Jisoo unnie"
