Gates of the Unknown

Chapter Nine

 I was left to my thoughts after Hermes left. I get up and stretch. Man, I'm hungry, I think. I walk out of my room to see Stella and Xavier talking with serious expressions. I sneak up on them to listen in. "We need to get the kids into the safe room when the attack happens. We can't risk Davi getting hurt. She is important. Those rouges are after her power. We can't risk anything." Stella says and Xavier nods. "Well, how about you stay in there with them as a layer of protection?" She sighs. "My place is to protect the pack and the children but We need as much brute force as possible. So I'm going to the front lines." Xavier sigh and agrees. "Ok, do we know when the attack will happen?" Stella shakes her head. "All I know is it'll be soon." I cough to get their attention. "Can I get some food before I take a nap?" I ask. "Sure thing, hun," Stella says and takes me into the kitchen. "Does leftover spaghetti sound good?" I nod and ask. "Can I get some parmesan cheese, too?" She nods. I notice she is still quite tense. I hug her. "Love you, Stella. Don't forget that." She gives a weak smile at that. "Love you, too, kiddo." 

I eat and quickly head to Sammy and Charity's room. I knock and go in. "Davi! You're ok!" They both hug me. "Want to snuggle and watch Pokemon?" I ask them. We end up snuggling and just relaxing. I won't tell them about the rouges trying to attack. But I do know to be on alert. We all fall asleep rather slowly and I fall into an alertful sleep.

"Girls supper time!" I hear Xavier say. I jumped up at that. I look at my sleeping mates and smile, a blush coating my face. "Sammy, Charity. It's supper time." I shake them awake. We all get up and stretch. I leave the room, Sam and Charity following, and head to the kitchen. "Meatloaf with mashed potatoes tonight. Enjoy." Stella says and puts our plates in front of us and we dig in. "What do you plan on doing tomorrow, Davi?" Sammy asks. "Well, I was gonna ask you guys to go on a picnic with me. Oh, we can even come back here and watch all our favorite movies!" I say with excitement. They both agree with me and we continue to eat. After we eat, we all spend time with each other until it was time for bed we all cuddle back up on their bed where I fall into an alert sleep once more.

*BANG* *CRASH*

I jolt up at the crash and see Sam and Charity confused as well. The door slammed open and Stella was there, panic in her eyes. "Sam, Charity, Code RP. Davi must be protected at all costs. Now run!" They both nod and Sam grabs my hand and drags me down a secret flight of stairs hidden behind their mirror. We go downstairs until we were under the packhouse and we get to a door with two handprint scanners. Charity comes in behind us with a giant backpack. They both put their hands on them and the door opens. It reveals a circular room with everything we need in it. A bed, fridge, water tankers, weapons, and a bathroom. 

"See the light above the bed. It'll flash green when we can safely leave. It could be days or even weeks. Last time this happened we were in here for a solid 9 days. There is plenty of food and water. We even have TVs that we can do two things to: watch the cameras and watch TV." I nod and yawn. "To be honest, I just want to sleep." They nod and Charity goes to the empty wall and places her hand on one of the many scanners. She pulls out the drawer and outcomes three pillows and two heavy blankets. I get up and put my hand on the wall we came in and say, "Obice nos protege!" I yell and a magic barrier surrounds the door. "Woah! How did you do that? I mean, I know your part goddess but dang!" I grin and get a little lightheaded. "I need to lay down," I say before falling on Sams's shoulder. "Crap." And with the little strength, I had left I teleport to the bed. I land face first and sighed, relaxing my body. "Welp let's join her." I hear Sam say. I feel them get on the bed beside me. I shift to my side and realize I was on the edge. I move towards the center as not to fall off. We all relax. A restless sleep brings me into the gates of my imagination.
