Coden's mother was as caring and as beautiful as he was. Her hair was incredibly straight and went down to her hips. She was frail, and about the size of Jade herself. Though she was definitely much prettier and sweeter.

Her skin was incredibly pale and soft, yet she still displayed a gorgeous smile on her red lips the second they walked into the room.

"Hi, mom," Coden whispered as he made his way to her bedside. The room was kept nice and tidy, definitely better looking than the rest. A battery-powered lamp illuminated the small room, shadows growing on all of her features.

Even the thin silk nightgown she wore was too innocent and pure. "Coden, hi, my love." She breathed happily as he planted a kiss on her scalp.

"How are you feeling?" He asked, examining her.

"I'm fine, my love," Then she looked towards where Jade was awkwardly standing with her arms behind her. She suddenly felt nervous. Just as nervous as when her parents were meeting Coden. But her soft smile immediately calmed her nerves. "Hi again," She waved nicely, "I believe we met earlier," She sat back against her headboard, her chest heaving slightly. "Before we were interrupted." She tried to giggle, looking at Coden.

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that," He rubbed the back of his neck.

"What's your name dear, are you new? My memory has gotten a little bad," She admitted, Jade noticed how Coden fidgeted in his spot when she said that.

"Oh, mom, she's actually... not... homeless."

She immediately looked back at her, looking surprised, "Oh," she said.

"Um...Yeah," Jade couldn't look at her, so Coden held her hand.

"Jade is my...girlfriend," He stood taller, smiling at her. His mother immediately gasped and smiled wider than the other times.

"My Coden is dating?" She squealed, holding her hands out. "Let me see, I must see." She breathed, so Jade stepped closer and kneeled by her bedside.

Her shaky hands gripped onto her cheeks, they were cold but still comforting. She stared at her for a long while until Jade realized there were tears in her eyes. "Jade was it?" She whispered.

Jade nodded, "So pretty," She rubbed small circles with her thumbs. "Do you love my son, Jade?" Jade didn't hesitate to nod.

"I love your son more than anything in this world," She hoped she hadn't come off too strong.

"Good, because Coden is my world, dear. You take care of him." She whispered. "Do you enjoy what he is doing?"

"Yes," She stated truthfully again, "I plan to dedicate my future to this cause...he has impacted me."

"That makes me so happy Jade, we need other women carrying out what I've worked for when I leave,"

"Mom," Coden whispered lightly, making her smile.

"I'm afraid all of this talking is making me a little exhausted, I will be going to bed now, but you don't keep this lovely girl from me Coden, okay?" She said, making Jade giggle slightly.

"Of course."

The two of them finished cleaning and had soon gone up to bed, laying down in each other's arms.

On Monday morning at 7:30 in Rochester High school students would see the double doors of the back entrance slamming open loudly, the boy who every student ignored for his dirty, lonesome looks stood right next to the pupilar girl most other girls grew to ignore in a matter of weeks.
