That night Jade decided something, something that would change their lives for the better, hopefully. It was risky, so incredibly risky, and not to mention stupid. But she knew deep down it was the only thing that could help Coden. Coden was her life, she would do anything.

So the next day, she got right to work.

By the time Coden got home from a busy day of meetings and more meetings with the budgets, mayor, everything, it was seven. Right on time. Jade listened to his keys unlock the door, finally getting open after an agonizing few minutes of fidgeting.

The second he walked in he didn't notice her but noticed something else right away. "Jade, you're home," He sounded surprised, she usually wasn't home until later. He looked around the apartment some more, she was glad his first thought wasn't pure anger, but rather, confusion. "Jade, where's all our stuff?"

The apartment had looked as though the first time they had ever stepped in it with the landlord, she remembered that day vividly. Oh, how it seemed like a lifetime ago already. Jade smiled, both extremely nervous and excited. "I sold it," she whispered, beaming as her heart raced a million miles a minute.

He set his things onto the counter, still not understanding. "Well... we kinda needed some of those things," He rubbed the back of his neck, looking at the empty spot where the fridge used to be.

She stayed silent as he walked over to her in the empty living room, two big backpacks meant for camping resting beside her. Her hands balled in anticipation. "What's going on here," He asked calmly, growing a little nervous. "You're not... leaving me are you?"

"I... wait what, no. Why do you think that every time I wanna talk," She asked, he shrugged,

"I don't know, trying to keep my guard up." She shook her head.

"I sold everything and emptied our bank account, plus I left the foundation for Ruth to take care of, everything was finalized and I quit my job and left school." She stated, watching his eyes grow.

Coden did not seem to like that, "W-why would you do that? Jade,"

"This life isn't making you happy," She whispered, stopping him, "Having a nine to five, coming home to a crappy apartment... this was never for you, I should've known better than to have you do those things in the first place." Coden frowned at her, "We have enough money to last us a few years if we use it right, plus I bought some flip phones that only a few people have the numbers to, Cassie, Julia, Ruth, all of them. I have all the addresses so we could write them too. The train,"

"Jade what are you doing," He was tearing up, holding both of her hands, "What are you saying,"

"I'm saying," She sniffed, "I told you, you were the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with... and my man wants to be a nomad, helping people who can't help themselves. I want to do that with him,"

"Y-you have a family here, a life! All of your friends, your parents, your career,"

"Coden," Jade laughed, "I told them this is what I want to do with my life. I want to help others, they all know,"

Coden cupped her cheek, trying to find any other sort of excuse. "But what about... Don't you want a... a life, a wedding, a house..." He rambled on until he saw Jade's amused expression, and he knew it was useless.

"What I want..." She came in to hug him, "Is to spend my life with you, traveling the world, living, and growing our family with anybody who wants in."

After a moment of silence, he sighed, "Where would we go,"

"Wherever people need us,"

"But money,"
